4-Button Key Ring Remote 2GIG-KEY1-345
The 2GIG-KEY1-345 is a 4-button key ring remote. The key fob enables you to turn
the 2GIG alarm system on and off before entering the home or after exiting. If there
is an emergency, you can turn on the siren and automatically call the central monitor-
ing station. If lamp modules have been installed, you can use the key fob to turn all
system-controlled lights on or off. The key fob is a lithium coin battery-powered,
wireless key fob designed to fit on a keychain, in a pocket, or in a purse. It provides a
convenient option for the following system operations:
• Arm the system (doors, windows, and motion sensors).
• Arm the system with no entry delay (if programmed).
• Disarm the system.
• Trigger panic alarms.
• Turn system-controlled lights on or off.
• Open the garage door or turn outside lights on (if programmed).
Programming
Refer to your control panel documentation for instructions on programming and sensor testing your key fob. Use
the following guidelines to add key fobs to the system:
• Program (learn) the key fobs into the control panel as non-supervised sensors.
• Each learned key fob uses one of the available sensor numbers.
• Use sensor group number 01, 03, 06, or 07.
Select fob # (1-8)
Up to eight wireless 4-button key fobs can be used with each Control Panel. Key fobs reports as sensors 51-58. The options for
each fob are programmed with sub-option questions.
• Begin by entering the fob number or select it using the ← or → arrows.
• Use the ↑ and ↓ arrows to select the sub-options.
Select fob (#) used (0-1) DEFAULT: Unused (0)
Key fobs can be used with the Control Panel or not.
• The default (0) sets all key fobs as unused (0).
• To enable programming for this key fob, select used (1).
Enter fob (#) serial number (7 digits) DEFAULT: F000000
Key fob serial numbers can be manually entered or learned from the fob.
• For manual entry, enter the fob number that was logged for the fob being programmed. Use the SHIFT button to
access alpha characters.
• For automatic entry press SHIFT then press LEARN. The Control Panel will wait for a fob transmission. Trigger the
fob being programmed and the Control Panel will learn the fob’s serial number.
Select fob (#) equipment age (0-1) DEFAULT: New (0)
The Control Panel can be used with new or existing key fobs.
• If this fob is new for the installation, leave the default of new (0).
• If this fob is already installed, select existing (1).
Select fob (#) emergency key (0-4) DEFAULT: Disabled (0)
Pressing the AWAY and UNLOCK buttons on a key fob at the same time for five seconds can trigger an emergency alarm.
• The default (0) disables the emergency function for this fob.
• To enable the emergency function for this fob, select one of the four options:
(0) disabled; (1) auxiliary alarm; (2) audible alarm; (3) silent panic; or (4) fire
Select fob (#) key 2 can disarm (0-1) DEFAULT: Disabled (0)
Key fobs can be set to allow disarming the Control Panel with the fob’s UNLOCK button or not.
• The default (0) prevents this fob from disarming the system
• To allow this fob to disarm the system, select enable (1).
Construct fob (#) voice descriptor DEFAULT: No default
The voice descriptor is the words the Control Panel will announce for this fob if this fob is programmed for voice annunciation.
• Press INSERT to place a word from the vocabulary into the data entry field.
• Use the ← or → arrows to scroll through the words, or enter the word’s 3-digit index number.
• Press INSERT again for the next word. Up to five words are allowed.
• To remove a word, press DELETE.
Select fob (#) arm no delay (0-1) DEFAULT: Disabled (0)
Key fobs can be set to arm the Control Panel with or without an exit delay.
• The default (0) sets this fob to arm the system with an exit delay.
• To set this fob to arm the system without an exit delay, select enable (1).
Select fob (#) key 4 output (0-2) DEFAULT: Disabled (0)
The key fob’s AUXILIARY button can be used to trigger the Control Panel’s open collector output.
• The default (0) disables this fob’s auxiliary button.
• To use this fob’s auxiliary button, select the output function:
(0) disabled; (1) toggle output; or (2) momentary output
Testing
Refer to your control panel documentation to initiate panel test mode, then test the key fob by pressing the key
fob buttons (see Figure 2 ):
Unlock button. If held for 2 seconds, disarms the control panel. The doors, windows, and
motion sensors are disarmed.
Away button. If held for 2 seconds, the control panel arms motion sensors, doors, and
windows (away mode).
Stay button. If held for 2 seconds, the control panel arms doors and windows only (stay
mode).
Auxiliary button. If programmed, can trigger a pre-selected output (see Installer’s Guide
for details).
Away & Unlock buttons. If held for 2 seconds, the control panel will transmit panic alert
and call the central monitoring station.
Battery Installation & Replacement
To replace battery, unscrew back and separate the two sides of the device. Use only the recommended replace- ment
batteries (see Specifications ).
WARNING! The polarity of the battery must be observed, as shown (see Figure 2 ). Improper handling of lithium
batteries may result in heat generation, explosion or fire, which may lead to personal injuries. Replace only with the
same or equivalent type of battery as recommended by the manufacturer. (see Specifications )
Batteries must not be recharged, disassembled or disposed of in fire. Disposal of used batteries must be made in accor-
dance with the waste recovery and recycling regulations in your area.
Keep away from small children. If batteries are swallowed, promptly see a doctor.
