Is My Netvue Camera Safe?

At Netvue, users’ security always comes first. We know you must have many security

concerns during using Netvue cameras, hope the following answers may eliminate

your concerns.

1. The Security of Netvue account and password

To begin with, Netvue app and our database do not save passwords. We use an

irreversible function to process the password, which means it can be used for

one-way verification, but the password cannot be derived backward.

Besides, all data communication between Netvue App and server is encrypted, and

clear-text passwords will not be transported when logging in, we use encrypted

passwords that cannot be cracked.

Furthermore, all email information is strictly saved by Netvue, and access to the user

database is strictly controlled. We are not able to view user email address directly

since all the contacts between customer service and users are conducted through the

internal system of the company.

2. Prevent Netvue Camera from being Hacked

Finally, a private key is in need when accessing audio/video streaming. The key is

temporally generated, time-sensitive and keeps changing all the time, which means

that hackers cannot guess what the key is, nor can they crack it with violence. What’s

more, only the granted account has the permission to request for the private key.

Amazon S3 is private and can only be accessed only by users that are explicitly granted access. Following this, access to user data is strictly controlled.
