Flexible PoE power budget
For NETGEAR switches that support a exible PoE budget, you
can increase or decrease the available PoE power. To do this, you
must rst change the PoE power budget setting for the switch and
then connect the new power adapter. For managed switches, log
in to the device management UI to change the PoE power budget.
Unmanaged switches come with a physical PoE power budget
setting on the hardware.
Note: Only connect the power adapter to a compatible NETGEAR
switch listed in the following table.

1. Register your power adapter
Use the NETGEAR Insight app to register your new power adapter
(and your switch if you haven’t already) to activate your warranty
and access support.
1. From a computer or mobile device that is connected to the
Internet, visit my.netgear.com.
2. Log in to your NETGEAR account.
If you don’t have a free NETGEAR account, you can create one.
The My Products page displays.
3. From the menu on the left, select Register a Product.
4. In the Serial Number eld, type the serial number of your
switch.
The serial number is 13 digits long. It is printed on the switch
label.
5. From the Date of Purchase menu, select the date that you
purchased the switch.
6. Click the REGISTER button.
Your switch is registered to your NETGEAR account.
A conrmation email is sent to your NETGEAR account email
address.
7. To register your switch, repeat Steps 5–7.
