Charging the Battery Pack Operating the Touch Panel The battery pack is not fully charged at the time of purchase. Be sure to charge the battery pack before using the cell phone for the first time. • An AC adapter is not included. Purchase a specified AC adapter (sold separately). The display of the IS11CA is a touch panel. You can operate the IS11CA by directly touching the screen. Connect a specified AC adapter to the cell phone.
Turning On Power Hold down P for at least two seconds. ■ Turning Off Power Hold down P for at least two seconds. Tap Power off → OK. Switching the Display Language to English You can switch the display language for function names and other items to English. Tap the Launcher icon on the Home screen. Initial Setup To set up the following, refer to the supplied Setting Guide (Japanese) before using the IS11CA.
Getting to Know the Home Screen The Home screen is your starting point to access all the features on your phone. It displays application icons, widgets, shortcuts, and other features. ④ Touch items on the Home screen to open them. Touch the Launcher icon to open the Launcher and ⑤ view all your applications. ② • At the top of the screen, the Status bar displays the time, information about the status of your phone, and icons for notifications that you have received.
Security Code and Passwords You can use a security code and other passwords described below. Take care not to forget your security code and passwords, because they are required for performing various operations and using subscription services.
Answering a Call Phone Slide the Phone icon to the right during an incoming call. Making a Call Tap the Phone icon on the Home screen. Enter a phone number. Tap Call. Returning a Call (Outgoing History/Incoming History) Making an International Call On the phone number entry screen, tap Incoming History/Outgoing History. ■ 001 International Call Service Select the entry you want to call. Playing a Message in Answering Memo Tap the Launcher icon on the Home screen. Tap Settings. Tap Call settings. Tap Call/Message. Tap Answering memo List. Select the massage to be played.
Using Global Passport Obtaining the PRL (Roaming Area Information) The PRL (roaming area information) contains information on roaming areas of overseas partner providers who have signed an international roaming contract with KDDI (au). When you use it in a CDMA network, setting is necessary. Tap the Launcher icon on the Home screen. Setting the Area Tap the Launcher icon on the Home screen. Tap Settings. Tap Wireless & networks. Character Input Entering Characters with ATOK ■ Number Keyboard This keyboard has the characters laid out in the same order as that of an ordinary cell phone. You can use four input methods: Cell Phone Input, Gesture Input, Gesture Input Pro, and Flick Input. ■ QWERTY Keyboard This keyboard has the characters laid out in the same order as that of an ordinary PC. ■ Pictogram/Face Mark/Symbol Panels These panels allow you to input pictograms, face marks, and symbols.
Address Book Saving an Address Book Entry Tap the Address Book icon on the Home screen. Tap the Menu key → Add New Item. Select and edit item. Tap Save → Yes. Using an Address Book Tap the Address Book icon on the Home screen. Select the contact.
Mail Sending E-mail Massages Receiving E-mail/C-mail Massages A mail massage is received. Tap the Launcher icon on the Home screen. Tap the status bar. Tap E-mail. Select mail information. On the inbox screen/the outbox screen, tap Create. Select the received mail. Tap the Enter Destination icon. Select/Set the address. Tap the subject entry field. → Enter a subject. Reading Received E-mail/C-mail Massages Tap the message entry field. → Enter a message.
Camera Taking a Photo Tap the Launcher icon on the Home screen. Tap Camera. Tap the Shutter icon on the screen. Saved data can be browsed in Gallery on the Launcher. Recording a Movie Tap the Launcher icon on the Home screen. Tap Camcorder. Tap the start movie icon on the screen. Tap the stop movie icon on the screen. Saved data can be browsed in Gallery on the Launcher.
Gallery Using Gallery Tap the Launcher icon on the Home screen. Tap Gallery. Select an album. Select an image or a movie to be displayed.
Browser Viewing Sites with Browser Tap the Launcher icon on the Home screen. Tap Browser. Using Bookmarks On the browser screen, tap the Menu key → Bookmarks. Bookmarking a Web Page On the browser screen, tap the Menu key → Bookmarks. Tap Add → OK.
Wi-Fi Turning Wi-Fi On and Connecting to a Wi-Fi Network Tap the Launcher icon on the Home screen. Tap Settings. Tap Wireless & networks → Wi-Fi settings. The Wi-Fi settings screen appears. Tap Wi-Fi to check it. Wi-Fi turns on and your phone scans for available Wi-Fi network.
Bluetooth Turning Bluetooth On or Off Tap the Launcher icon on the Home screen. Tap Settings. Tap Wireless & networks. Check or uncheck Bluetooth to turn it on or off. Pairing Your Phone with a Bluetooth Device Tap the Launcher icon on the Home screen. Tap Settings. Tap Wireless & networks → Bluetooth settings.
USB Connection Connecting Your Phone to a Computer via USB Use the USB cable (sold separately) to connect the phone to a USB port on your computer. The USB Connection dialog opens. Tap Mass Storage → OK. When the phone is connected as USB storage, the screen indicates that USB storage is in use and you receive a notification.
