ELECTRICAL INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS Warning - When installing or using electrical products, basic precautions should always be followed, including: 1. Please see Electrical Specifications at bottom of this page. Many options may be combined on a 20 amp circuit, as long as total amps of combined options are considered. If your tub has more than two power cords, the power cords will be gathered together with a hang tag indicating how many items must be plugged in for proper operation.
FREESTANDING BATH GENERAL GUIDELINES IMPORTANT: Do not attempt to remove the foam from the bottom of the tub. Doing so may cause damage and will void the warranty. Do not remove the wires attached to the sensors located on each side of the drain. The sensor wire must be connected to the remote blower for proper operation. Rough in Dimensions – For critical dimensions, we suggest taking the measurements of the actual tub on site.
FREESTANDING BATH INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS See next page for installation instructions for Sculpted Finish tubs and additional air bath instructions. See page 9 for Clawfoot tub instructions. 1. Determine final location of tub. The tub will sit on top of the finished floor, however, the drain will sit approximately 1/2" - 1 1/2" below the finished floor. Tubs installed on a slab foundation may require extra effort to gain clearance for the drain. 2. Ensure location is structurally sound, flat and level.
AIR BATH INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS 1. Select the location for the air blower within 8' of the tub. MTI does not recommend that the the blower be mounted more than 8' from the tub. The blower must be in a climate-controlled environment. 2. The air hose, keypad cable and drain sensor wires exit the bottom of the bath near the drain, and must be connected to the blower. See photo "A" below.
Additional instuctions for tubs equipped with "Air Massage Elite" air bath package – This package includes LED Lights and additional air jets. This system includes a control box that is located with the remote mounted blower. The control box is connected to the air blower and does not require an additional electrical outlet. In addition to the air hose, there are three electrical connections between the tub and the blower. The LED Lights are operated by the same keypad as the air bath.
OPTIONAL EQUIPMENT INSTALLATION & OPERATION GUIDELINES RADIANCE® Each Radiance system comes with an on/off touch pad, or designated icon on the keypad, and transformer box equipped with a 27" power cord. There are two heated zones for each Radiance system. To install, simply plug the transformer box into a 110 V, GFCI protected outlet. The transformer box draws 5 amps. To turn the system on, press the button on the touchpad. The light on the touchpad will be on.
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS FOR CLAWFOOT TUBS All MTI clawfoot tubs require an exposed drain kit. MTI recommends the use of our drain kit to ensure a perfect fit. This tub is designed to have the drain (back) side of the tub face the wall. Set tub in final location, and use a 6" level on top of the tub, to ensure tub is perfectly level from side to side, and front to back. Adjust the leveling feet if necessary. The tub will not drain properly if not perfectly level. Install drain kit and water test for leaks.

CLEANING INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE ACRYLIC SHELL The cross-linked cast acrylic surface of all MTI air baths and soaking baths is among the glossiest, highest quality surfaces available. Its hard, non-porous surface prevents dirt from accumulating and resists stains better than other materials. With normal use, cast acrylic will retain its beauty with only a minimal amount of care.
TROUBLESHOOTING Q: The blower will not turn on. What should I check first? A: Check the electrical connections. Test the outlet for power by plugging in a small lamp or hair dryer. Check to make sure the breaker is not tripped. Replace GFCI outlet or breaker if necessary. On systems with multiple control boxes or equipment, ensure that all connections are intact. Q: There is a rust colored, greasy ring in my bath tub. What causes this? A: The condition results from sediment in the water heater of the home.
Q. How can I get scratches out of my acrylic tub? A. Most scratches can be buffed out using an automotive polish. Any polish suitable for use on "clear coated" automobile paint is fine. Deeper scratches and chips may require the services of a professional acrylic repair technician. Q. My bath's hydrotherapy system has been working great for years, and now has stopped working. What should I check first? A. The problem is most likely the breaker or the GFCI outlet under the tub.
