Assembly Instruction

PORCH SWING ASSEMBLY INTRUCTIONS
Tools Required: 9/16 wrench (open end, socket or impact drill), rubber mallet or hammer and board. (If you do not
have a rubber mallet, use a hammer and board, placing the board between the hammer and wood to avoid leaving
marks on the swing.)
Parts List: (2) arms, (1) back, (1) seat,
Hardware List: (4) 4 lag bolts, (4) 5 eye bolts, (4) washers, (2) long chains, (2) short chains, (8) S hooks
*Please note that you will have to purchase the hardware necessary to attach the porch swing to the mounting location of
your choice. Depending upon the skill level of the purchaser, it may be necessary to consult a qualified carpenter or
handyman to ensure the installation is done correctly and safely.
Assembly of the Swing:
1. Lay one arm (A in the picture), on the floor with the holes facing upward.
2. Insert the two swing seat (B in the picture,) tenons into the two holes on the short, straight log of the arm.
3. Insert the two swing back (C in the picture,) tenons into the two holes on the longer, angled log of the arm.
4. Repeat steps 2&3 for the other arm.
5. Insert lag bolts (D in the picture) with washers, (E in the picture) and eye bolts (F in the picture) per diagram
below.
Hanging the Swing:
1. Separate the two different lengths of chain and the S shaped hooks.
2. Count eight links from the end of one a long chain, (G in the picture) and insert an S hook into the 8
th
link. At-
tach the other end of this S hook from one of the eye bolts on the underside of the *hardware you installed in the
porch header or other desired mounting location. (*This is the hardware purchased and installed by the customer)
3. Count forty links from the bottom of the same long chain and insert an S hook into the 40
th
link.
4. Attach one end of the short chain, (F in the picture) to the remaining end of the S hook you inserted in step
#3 above.
5. Insert an S hook into the remaining end of the short chain.
6. Count nine links from the bottom of the long chain in step # 3 above, and insert an S hook into the 9
th
link.
7. Attach one end of the swing seat assembly by inserting the remaining end of the S hook that is hanging from the
9
th
link at the bottom of the long chain into the eye bolt on the front end of the swing assembly.
8. Insert the remaining end of the middle S hook (the one that is hanging from the end of the short chain) to the eye
bolt on the swing back (or top) of the swing assembly.
9. Repeat steps # 2 through # 8 to hang the other side of the swing assembly.
Adjust the height and balance of the swing assembly by moving the S hooks one link at a time to suite your needs.
Enjoy your new porch swing, it is now fully assembled.

light and/or weather. If the intended use is outside, please use an exterior finish to also protect the item from weather damage.
