With the help of the following guide minor faults in the performance of the ma-
chine, some of which may result from incorrect operation, can be remedied with-
out contacting the Service Department.
This guide may help you to find the reason for the fault, and how to correct it.
To prevent cold from escaping, open the appliance doors as little as possible un-
til the fault has been corrected.
Problem Possible cause and solution
If you are concerned
that your appliance is
not working properly,
you can perform a Self
Test. Your appliance will
be checked for any
faults or malfunctions.
Any errors identified during the Self Test are shown
on the display.
Perform a Self Test (see “Additional settings”, sec-
tion “Performing a Self Test ”).
Contact Miele Service and inform them of the error
message(s) on the display.
The wine conditioning
unit is not getting cold
and the interior lighting
does not come on when
the appliance door is
opened.
The wine conditioning unit is not switched on.
Switch the wine conditioning unit on. The tempera-
ture appears in the display.
The plug is not properly plugged into the electrical
outlet.
Insert the plug into the outlet.
The fuse has tripped. There could be a fault with the
wine conditioning unit, the household electrical
wiring, or another appliance.
Contact a technician or the Miele Service depart-
ment.
The compressor is turn-
ing on more frequently
and for longer periods
of time; the temperature
inside the wine condi-
tioning unit is too low.
The temperature in the wine conditioning unit is set
too low.
Correct the temperature setting.
The ventilation gaps in the cabinetry have been cov-
ered or become too dusty.
Do not block the ventilation gaps.
Clean the ventilation gaps on a regular basis to re-
move any dust.
The appliance door has been opened too frequently,
or a large number of wine bottles have been put in-
side the unit all at once.
