Introduction English The PMR446 Communication Service Congratulations for your choice! ALAN 451 is a new generation transceiver, PMR 446 type, that can be used without license in all the countries in which Pan-European PMR446 frequencies are authorised. Remind NEW unique Cautions: they are special notices you should carefully read and follow to avoid an improper use of the transceiver and its accessories. 14. Battery pack. To open the battery compartment, hold the unit face down and unhook the battery holder in the lower part of the radio; gently slide the cover towards the bottom of the radio. If the transceiver receives no signals for longer than 5 seconds the “power save function” automatically activates. (“SAVE” displayed).
And now, let’s communicate!! English 1. Insert 3 AA type alkaline or rechargeable batteries into the battery compartment, ensuring correct polarity (+/-). 2. Rotate the ON/OFFVOLUME dial clockwise to turn the unit on. The radio beeps 4 successive tones with different sounds (excludible). The LCD makes a “self-test” for 1 sec., then it switches on the channel 1. By turning this dial, you can also adjust the volume level.
The display shows: 2) Use again the / keys to select the delay setting: “d1”, “d2” or “d3”(“d1” is the shortest and “d3” the longest delay). L1 To confirm the selection, press or turn the unit off. Auto power save It monitors periodically for 5 secs only the channels not in use (without carrier). This function allows an automatic save of the battery life up to 50%. If you receive no signals for longer than 5 secs. the “Power save“ feature enables, reducing at minimum the consumption and extending the battery life. To activate B.SCAN: 1. Press twice , until “B.SCAN “ flashes on the display. 2. Hold down or to start the scanning mode. 3. To stop it, press again , CALL or PTT keys.
