The MEMS EVOLUTION2 SENSOR is a

battery powered air

and air temperature

sensor designed to operate inside tubeless earthmover

tires. The sensor is secured to the

the tire using a special

mounting patch. The sensor measures the pressu

re and

temperature inside the ti

re and

sends this information, via a radio transmitter, at

approximately 1 minute intervals

to a MEMS EVOL

UTION2 TRANSCEIVER unit which is

usually located in the driver’s cabin.

INSTALLATION Patch Installation For a Standard Tire it is necessary to glue a patch to the inside of the tire, onto which the sensor will be affixed. Patch Detailed installation instructions for gluing the patch are provided with the patches themselves. A Sensor Ready Tire (SRT) has a ‘belt patch’ incorporated into it as part of the manufacturing process and therefore does not require the above procedure.

Sensor Installation Record the sensor number (shown on each of four white labels affixed to the sensor) along with the brand number of the tire into which you are about to install the sensor . For a Standard Tire slide the SENSOR onto the dovetail of the patch. Insert the supplied metal split-pin to lock the SENSOR in place.

It is highly recommended to maintain in a notebook a list of the sensor numbers and the brand numbers of the tires into which each sensor has been installed. This information is critical to the operation of MEMS. For a Sensor Ready Tire (SRT) insert the Velcro Strap supplied with the sensor. Place the sensor in between the ends of the strap and wrap the ends around the sensor, so that the hooks and loops of the Velcro Strap stick together.

IMPORTANT It is highly recommended to maintain in a notebook a list of the sensor numbers and the brand numbers of the tires into which each sensor has been installed. This information is critical to the operation of MEMS.
