Measure the width of door, and mark the measurement

onto the rst 16" x 36" board. Cut and set aside.

Measure the second 16" x 36" board to 18", and cut the

board in half.

SHOPPING LIST

Step 1

Attach the 18" halves to the sides of the board that was

cut to the door width. Stand the door up, and attach the

boards to the front of the door.

Step 3 Measure the space between the 18" boards, mark on both 1" x 4" x 4' boards, and cut. Then set aside. Make the same measurement on the third 16" x 36" board, and cut. Step 4 Attach the 1" side of a 1" x 4" to the edge of the third 16" x 36" board. Step 5 Place between the 18" boards, and have the 1" x 4" flush with the bottom of the door. Then attach to the door and 18" boards. Step 6 Measure 1½" and mark on the 18" boards from the front of the box.

Step 8 Mark the top and bottom of the box in equal thirds. Step 9 Then slide in the equally sized boards at the location of the marks. Use a tape measure to make sure the boards have equal space between them, and adjust as needed. Then attach through the top and bottom of the box. Step 10 Paint the front, top, and sides of the door. Then paint the whole box except the top of it. You will stain the top in the next step. Step 11 Stain the 1" x 8" x 3' board and the top of the box.

Step 13 From the top of the door measure the screw hole placement of the installed bracket, and repeat the steps on the other side of the door with the second bracket. Step 14 Place coat hooks on the door, and use a straightedge to make sure they line up. Then screw in. Step 15 Screw in the 1" x 8" x 3' shelf to the brackets.
