Connecting the CareLink USB to your computer Plug the CareLink USB into your computer when prompted by the CareLink software. It is recommended that the CareLink USB be plugged directly into a USB port on your computer, rather than into a peripheral device, such as a USB port on your monitor or keyboard. You can use a USB extension cable if you do not have easy access to the USB ports on your computer, but it is recommended that you use only a USB cable with a protected female end (see image).
