GENERAL

Roof curbs are shipped fully welded and in a 3/12 pitch.

Leveling and mounng on the roof structure are the

responsibility of the installing contractor. All curb installa-

ons must comply with local codes and should be done in

accordance with the established guidelines of the Naonal

Roong Contractors Associaon.

1. All required hardware necessary for the assembly of

the sheet metal curb is included with the curb acces-

sory.

2. Full perimeter type curb accessories are available. Full

perimeter curbs include duct connecon frames at-

tached to the curb.

3. Curbs must be supported on at least two parallel sides

by roof members. Ensure that roof members do not

penetrate supply and return duct opening areas.

4. Curb insulaon, cant strip, ashings and general roof-

ing material are to be furnished by the roong contrac-

tor. Curb gasket is to be furnished with the curb acces-

sory.

5. The unit and curb accessories are designed to allow

vercal duct installaon before unit placement. Duct

installaon aer unit placement is not recommended.

!CAUTION!

ALL CURBS LOOK SIMILAR. TO AVOID INCORRECT

CURB POSITIONING, CHECK JOB PLANS CAREFULLY

AND VERIFY MARKINGS ON CURB ASSEMBLY.

1. Check package contents to ensure all the pieces are

present.

2. Posion the curb on the roof with the shorter side

toward the peak of the roof.

3. Secure the ashing to the roof using methods consis-

tent with local codes.

4. For a 2/12 pitched roof, raise the top sleeve on the

shorter side of the curb unl it is level. Secure the sides

of the sleeve to the ashing using sheet metals screws.

5. Seal any gaps between the top sleeve and ashing us-

ing approved methods.

6. For 3/12 to 6/12 pitched roof, raise the eaves or taller

side of the sleeve unl the top of the sleeve is level. Se-

cure the sides of the sleeve to the ashing using sheet

metal screws.

7. Seal any gaps between the top sleeve and ashing us-

ing approved methods.

VERTICAL DISCHARGE DUCT CONNECTIONS DOWNFLOW DUCT INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS The down flow curb accessory has been designed to encourage duct installation before unit placement. Duct installation after the unit placement is possible but not recommended. Ducts must never be fastened to the bottom of the unit causing the base pan to be penetrated. Flexible duct connectors in the ducts near the unit are recommended. Support all ducts by securing them to the building structure.
