JAMB
EXTENDER KIT
This kit is designed to work with Masonite 3-0 x 6-8
(36" x 80") and smaller inswing and out swing door
systems. The Kit will extend the frame and sill from
a 4-9/16" wall condition to 6-9/16".
IMPORTANT: The Extender kit must be installed
prior to installing the door system in the opening.
Completely read these instructions before installing
the Jamb Extender Kit. Some door units are heavy
and require a 2 person lift. Always work safely with
tools and wear proper personal protection equipment.
TOOLS REQUIRED:
u Claw hammer
u Tape measure
u Pliers
u 10D finishing nails
u Wood saw and hack saw (suitable for cutting
aluminum if installing kit on a door smaller than 36”)
u Premium paintable exterior grade caulk
u Pencil
u Square
u Screw driver (cordless drill)
KIT INCLUDES:
u Left jamb Extender
u Right Jamb Extender
u Head Jamb Extender
u Aluminum Threshold Extender
u #8 x 1-5/8" wood screws
STEP 6 – REATTACHING BRICKMOLD
(IF NEEDED)
With the extender kit properly installed, the
brickmold can be attached prior to installing the
door unit in the opening or attached after the
unit is installed.
Aligned all three pieces of brickmold to ensure
proper fit of the miter corners. When properly
positioned (1/2" reveal from inside edge of
frame) secure the brickmold to the extended
jamb using seven 10d finishing nails evenly
spaced per side and four across the top piece
of brickmold. If Brickmold is being attached
prior to installing the unit the miters can be
cross nailed as shown in Figure F.

STEP 7 – FILL AND CAULK
Fill any original nail holes on the brickmold with
exterior grade wood putty or paintable caulk.
Caulk seams between extender pieces, at the
sill, and Brickmold to frame.
Be sure to follow the installations Instructions
provided with your door system to ensure a
trouble free installation
