. 4. 5. 6. 7. Prevent unintentional starting. Ensure the switch is in the off-position before connecting to power source and/or battery pack, picking up or carrying the tool. Carrying power tools with your finger on the switch or energising power tools that have the switch on invites accidents. Remove any adjusting key or wrench before turning the power tool on. A wrench or a key left attached to a rotating part of the power tool may result in personal injury. Do not overreach.
Symbols CAUTION: Only use genuine Makita batteries. Overload protection To remove the battery cartridge, slide it from the tool while sliding the button on the front of the cartridge. When the tool/battery is operated in a manner that causes it to draw an abnormally high current, the tool automatically stops without any indication. In this situation, turn the tool off and stop the application that caused the tool to become overloaded. Then turn the tool on to restart.
NOTE: The tool automatically stops if you keep pulling the switch trigger for about 6 minutes. CAUTION: Always check the direction of rotation before operation. Electric brake CAUTION: Use the reversing switch only after the tool comes to a complete stop. Changing the direction of rotation before the tool stops may damage the tool. This tool is equipped with an electric brake.
Selecting the action mode CAUTION: Always set the ring correctly to your desired mode mark. Screwdriving operation Drilling operation First, turn the action mode changing ring so that the arrow points to the marking. Then proceed as follows. CAUTION: Adjust the adjusting ring to the proper torque level for your work. CAUTION: Make sure that the driver bit is inserted straight in the screw head, or the screw and/or driver bit may be damaged. Drilling in wood First, turn the action mode changing ring so that the arrow on the tool body points to the marking.
