Replace them right away with new ones from Makita. SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS. OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS Installing or removing battery cartridge (Fig. 1) • Always switch off the tool before insertion or removal of the battery cartridge. • To remove the battery cartridge, withdraw it from the tool while pressing the buttons on both sides of the cartridge.
SC190DW (E) (’100. 11. 17) Installing or removing cutters (Fig. 3) CAUTION: Always be sure that the tool is switched off and the battery cartridge is removed before installing or removing the cutters. Replace the cutters in accordance with the following procedure. Use only Makita genuine cutters for the tool. 1. There are two cutters. Cutter A is to be installed on the cutter head, and cutter B on the cutter rod. Be sure to install them in the correct respective position.
SC190DW (E) (’100. 11. 20) WARNING: If you need to cut a short length off as mentioned above, place the steel rod so that it can be fully supported by the stopper bolt as illustrated to the right in Fig. 9. And then, turn the stopper bolt to fix the steel rod while keeping the steel rod at right angles to the cutters. Even in this recommended way, when cutting steel rods of same hardness, steel debris can fly mainly towards the derections marked with ‘‘A’’ in Fig. 9, resulting in serious personal injures.

SC190DW (F) (’100. 11. 17) 18. 19.
