Use the batteries only with the products specified by Makita. Installing the batteries to non-compliant products may result in a fire, excessive heat, explosion, or leak of electrolyte. If the tool is not used for a long period of time, the battery must be removed from the tool.
Tool / battery protection system FUNCTIONAL DESCRIPTION The tool is equipped with a tool/battery protection system. This system automatically cuts off power to the motor to extend tool and battery life. The tool will automatically stop during operation if the tool is placed under one of the following conditions: WARNING: Always be sure that the tool is switched off and the battery cartridge is removed before adjusting or checking function on the tool.
Indicating the remaining battery capacity Main power switch Press the check button on the battery cartridge to indicate the remaining battery capacity. The indicator lamps light up for a few seconds. 1 WARNING: Always turn off the main power switch when not in use. Press the main power button to turn on the tool. To prevent the switch trigger from being accidentally pulled, a lock-off lever is provided. Reverse button for debris removal WARNING: Switch off the tool and remove the battery cartridge before you remove entangled weeds or debris which the reverse rotation function can not remove. Mounting the attachment pipe ASSEMBLY WARNING: Always be sure that the tool is switched off and battery cartridge is removed before carrying out any work on the tool. Make sure that the surface of the lever is parallel to the pipe. To remove the pipe, turn the lever toward the attachment side and pull the pipe out while pressing down the release button. 1 CAUTION: When you use the tool in combination of the backpack-type power supply such as portable power pack, do not use the shoulder harness included in the tool package, but use the hanging band recommended by Makita.
The shoulder harness features a means of quick release. Simply squeeze the sides of the buckle to release the tool from the shoulder harness. TROUBLESHOOTING Before asking for repairs, conduct your own inspection first. If you find a problem that is not explained in the manual, do not attempt to dismantle the tool. Consejos para alargar al máximo la vida útil de la batería Cargue el cartucho de batería antes de que se descargue completamente. Sistema de protección para la herramienta/batería DESCRIPCIÓN DEL FUNCIONAMIENTO La herramienta está equipada con un sistema de protección para la herramienta/batería. Este sistema corta automáticamente la alimentación al motor para prolongar la vida de la herramienta y la batería.
Protección contra el sobrecalentamiento de la herramienta o la batería Si la herramienta o el cartucho de batería se sobrecalientan, la herramienta se detendrá automáticamente. Cuando la herramienta se sobrecalienta, la luz indicadora de precaución se ilumina en rojo. Cuando el cartucho de batería se sobrecalienta, la luz indicadora de precaución parpadea en rojo. Permita que la herramienta y/o la batería se enfríen antes de volver a encender la herramienta.
Indicador de velocidad PRECAUCIÓN: Antes de insertar el cartucho de batería en la herramienta, compruebe siempre y cerciórese de que el gatillo interruptor se acciona debidamente y que vuelve a la posición “OFF” (apagado) cuando lo suelta. Modo Alta PRECAUCIÓN: Nunca coloque su dedo en el botón de encendido principal y en el gatillo interruptor cuando transporte la herramienta. Función electrónica de control de torsión La herramienta detecta electrónicamente una caída repentina en la velocidad de rotación que podría causar un retroceso brusco. En este caso, la herramienta se detendrá en forma automática para evitar que la herramienta de corte siga girando. Para volver a arrancar la herramienta, suelte el gatillo interruptor. Elimine la causa de la caída repentina en la velocidad de rotación y luego encienda la herramienta.

Limpieza de la herramienta Protector de la batería Limpie la herramienta quitando el polvo, la tierra o los residuos de pasto con un paño seco o un paño humedecido en agua y jabón y exprimido.
