OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS WARNING! Do not overcharge the battery. Recharge only when the tool starts to run slowly. 1. Charging the battery 1. Before the first use, the battery must be charged for 5 hours. 2. New batteries, or a battery that has been stored uncharged for some time, may not initially accept a full charge. This is normal. It will charge fully after several charge and discharge cycles. 3. The battery should always be charged at ambient air temperatures of between 4° and 40°C. 4.
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS WARNING! Do not press the On/Off switch when removing, or installing a screwdriver bit. 2. Inserting screwdriver bits To insert a screwdriver bit, push it firmly into the screwdriver bit holder. See figures 3 & 4. 3 4 To remove a screwdriver bit, pull it firmly out of the screwdriver bit holder.
Reverse (Removing screws) 6 2. To rotate the bit holder in a reverse (removing screws) direction, press the left hand side of the On/Off switch marked . See figure 6. 3. Release the On/Off switch to stop the screwdriver. NOTE: Always use sharp good quality screwdriver bits. The performance and safety of the screwdriver is dependant on the quality of the bits used. 4.
6. Using the screwdriver When using the screwdriver the following points should be observed. 1. Place the point of the screwdriver bit in the head of the screw and apply light pressure to the screwdriver. 2. Make sure that the screwdriver bit is inserted straight and upright in the screw head, or the screw may be damaged. 3. Start the screwdriver by pressing the On/Off switch. 4. When driving wood screws, pre-drill pilot holes to make driving easier and to prevent splitting the material. 5.
ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION Recycling the Battery The only way to dispose of a Makita battery is to recycle it. The law prohibits any other method of disposal. To recycle the battery: 1. 6. Utilisation de la visseuse Veuillez tenir compte des points suivants lorsque vous utilisez la visseuse. 1. Placez la pointe de l’embout dans la tête de la vis et appliquez une légère pression sur la visseuse. 2. Assurez-vous que l’embout est inséré bien droit dans la tête de la vis pour éviter d’endommager cette dernière. 3. Démarrez la visseuse en appuyant sur l’interrupteur d’alimentation. 4.
PROTECTION DE L’ENVIRONNEMENT Recyclage de la batterie L’unique façon de mettre au rebut une batterie Makita est l’utilisation d’un service de recyclage. Inserción de las puntas de atornillar Para insertar una punta de atornillar, empújela firmemente al interior del portapuntas del atornillador. Consulte las figuras 3 y 4. 3 4 Para extraer una punta de atornillar, tire de ella firmemente para sacarla del portapuntas del atornillador.
3. Accionamiento del interruptor de encendido/apagado El interruptor de encendido/apagado se utiliza para poner en marcha el atornillador. También controla la dirección en la que gira el portapuntas. Hacia delante (Atornillar) 5 1. Para girar el portapuntas en dirección hacia delante (atornillar), pulse el lado derecho del interruptor de encendido/apagado marcado como . Consulte la figura 5. 5. Utilización del mango plegable El atornillador está equipado con un mango plegable para utilizarlo en línea recta o como empuñadura de pistola. Cuando se pliega en posición de empuñadura de pistola, resulta útil para utilizarlo en sitios donde el acceso puede ser dificultoso de otra forma. Consulte la figura 8. Para utilizar el mango plegable, agarre la parte inferior del mango con una mano y mueva la parte superior hasta la posición deseada con la otra mano. 8 6.
LIMPIEZA Y MANTENIMIENTO ¡ADVERTENCIA! No pulse el interruptor de encendido/apagado cuando esté realizando procedimientos de limpieza y mantenimiento. Después de la utilización, extraiga la punta de atornillar y golpee ligeramente el costado del portapuntas del atornillador para quitar cualquier resto de polvo o virutas, etc. Limpie el cuerpo del atornillador con un paño suave. Mantenga el mango limpio y libre de aceite y grasa. Mantenga el adaptador de carga limpio y libre de aceite y grasa.
