1. INTRODUCTION

The MaceAlert™ Solo Wireless Extension Alarm Siren

is designed to act as an additional siren for the MaceAlert™ Solo Wireless Alarm System,

increasing its volume throughout the property and increasing its range to areas where the

built-in siren of the Wireless Alarm Panel cannot easily be heard. Once the system has been

triggered (under the ALARM mode), it sends a signal to the Wireless Extension Alarm Siren

which activates the audible sound and the ﬂashing indicator light at the base of the unit.

The siren can operate continuously from the main AC adaptor with 3 x AAA batteries (not

included) as a back-up.

2. LOCATION

First determine the location of the Indoor Siren, which should be placed:

• Indoors and within a few feet of an electrical socket, so the AC adapter can easily be used

• Away from extreme temperature sources (radiators, ovens, stoves etc) and large metal

objects that could interfere with wireless performance

• On a ﬁxed ﬂat surface where the siren can be easily heard when triggered

3. INSTALLATION AND OPERATION

3.1 Powering uP the indoor Siren

• Ensure that the main AC adaptor plug (included) and back-up batteries (not included) are

installed before mounting. Note: The indicator light on the siren will ﬂash every second

if the back-up battery status is low. Please change the batteries when this occurs. This

indicator light will also ﬂash every ﬁve seconds when the siren is in STANDBY mode.

• • • • Remove the screw on the back cover and remove Slide off the battery compartment cover, in the direction of the arrows Plug the main AC adapter plug into the jack within the battery compartment Insert the (3) AAA back-up batteries (not included), taking care to follow the polarity diagram inside the battery compartment • Feed the adaptor wire out of the compartment and back cover, and secure the cover with the screw 3.

5. Maintenance The product may be cleaned with a soft damp cloth and then wiped dry. Do not use abrasive, solvent based or aerosol cleaners as this may damage and/or discolour the product. Do not allow water to enter or attempt to clean inside the unit. 6. Batteries — Do not allow batteries to corrode and leak as this may cause permanent damage to the product. — Take care to insert the batteries with the correct polarity as shown inside the battery compartments.
