BEFORE YOU START Insert the battery and SIM card. Please follow instructions on page 8. You must fully charge your device before using it for the first time. Plug your LUCIA phone into a wall outlet using the wall charger and USB Type-C cable included with your phone. You can use the phone while it charges. Turn the phone on. To turn the phone on, push up the slider and hold it in that position for at least 3 seconds. Your phone will vibrate, letting you know that it is starting the activation process.

The front face of the phone has five buttons underneath the screen. On the left is the square CALL button (green) and on the right is the round END/Cancel button (red). Between these buttons are the up/ down navigation buttons. Between the navigation arrows is the smaller, rectangular OK button (blue). Directly above the screen, in the center, is the earpiece. The number keypad is in the lower part of the phone.
Left Edge On the left edge, near the top of the phone is the volume rocker button. Push the top of the button to increase volume, and the bottom to lower it. This rocker button adjusts the volume of the speech when not in a call and the earpiece volume when in a call. + - Volume rocker button ORIENTATION - TOP, BOTTOM & BACK Top Edge On the top edge, near the right end of the phone there is a small round hole which is the earphone socket. It is a standard socket for a 3.5 mm plug.
DISPLAY SCREEN Signal strength Battery indicator 12:08 Call Menu Time & Date Call Menu • The home screen has several icons arranged around the screen. On the top left is the signal strength indicator. In the center is the Voice Guide/text-to-speech indicator. If crossed out, the Voice Guide is turned off and LUCIA will not speak. On the right is the battery indicator. The icon shows a battery. When the battery is full, the icon will also show as full.
GETTING STARTED Fitting the SIM Card and Battery Below are instructions on how to remove the battery and insert or remove a SIM card. Note that LUCIA is an unlocked GSM mobile phone that works on any GSM network. Removing the Battery Cover Turn off the phone before you remove the battery. Turn it over so the screen faces down, with the buttons closest to you. The LUCIA phone battery cover is a one-piece cover across the back of the phone. There is a recess in the bottom left corner.
Removing the Battery To remove the battery, simply start lifting it from the bottom. Inserting/Removing the SIM Card If you need to remove or install a SIM card, simply follow these directions: the SIM tray is located in the bottom left corner of the battery compartment underneath the battery. The SIM card lies with the metal contacts face down and the cut-off corner at the top left. The SIM tray is covered by a metal bridge.
TURNING THE PHONE ON AND OFF To turn the phone on, push up the slider and hold it in that position for at least 3 seconds. Your phone will vibrate, letting you know that the phone is starting the activation process. After it vibrates, release the slider. Within a few seconds, LUCIA will begin to speak. The first time you turn on your phone, you will be prompted to select the language and voice, and to set the date and time. Use the arrows to select the desired language. LUCIA will repeat it back to you.
MAKING A CALL & ANSWERING A CALL When on the home screen, you can make a call simply by typing in the number using the keypad and pressing the green, square CALL button followed by the blue OK button or the CALL button again. Press the round, red END button to delete any incorrect button presses. You do not need to wait for LUCIA to read out each number. Press OK 2 3 1 CALL Dial number Press the repeat speech button on the right edge of the phone at any time to hear the numbers you have typed.
There are three submenus in Call Log. These are Dialed Numbers, Received Calls and Missed Calls. You can view each submenu by using the navigation arrows to highlight the submenu you wish to view and pressing the OK button to confirm. Each submenu will list the calls by name if they are in your contact list or by number if not. It will also detail the number of calls after the name or number is announced. Use the navigation arrows to move through the list.
delete any errors. LUCIA will then confirm that contact’s number has been successfully saved. New contacts will be automatically assigned the default ringtone. You can also add a number to your Contacts from the Call Log or from Messages. When in a call log list, highlight the number you wish to save in your contacts, and then press the ZERO button. LUCIA will then ask you to enter a name. Complete this step by following the same process as when adding a contact manually.
category “Sound” in Settings. Use the up or down navigation arrows to highlight Sound and press OK. Highlight Voice Guide, highlight desired voice name. Press OK to confirm. There will be a delay of approximately five seconds after which LUCIA will confirm your selection. Voice Speed: The “Voice Speed” option can be found under the category “Sound” in “Settings”. Use the up or down navigation arrows to increase or decrease the speed of the speech and press OK to confirm.
To cancel the SOS calling process, press the END button. Please note: The SOS call function will only work if you have an active wireless service. In an emergency, however, you will always be able to call emergency services, whether or not you have a positive balance, using the usual 911 number in the United States, Canada and Mexico (112 in most European countries).

Borde Izquierdo En el borde izquierdo y casi arriba del todo encontrarás el botón basculante del volumen. Pulsa la parte de arriba para aumentar el volumen y la inferior para reducirlo. Este botón basculante ajusta el volumen de la voz cuando no estás en una llamada y el volumen del auricular cuando estás en una llamada.

En la parte superior a mano izquierda se indica el nivel de la señal. Si el símbolo de texto a voz está tachado, la capacidad de conversión de texto a voz está desactivada y LUCIA no hablara. A mano derecha verás el indicador de la batería. El icono es una batería. Cuando la batería está completamente cargada, el icono también se verá lleno.
PARA EMPEZAR Introducir la Tarjeta SIM y la Batería A continuación hay las instrucciones como extraer la batería e introducir o sacar la tarjeta SIM. Ten en cuenta que LUCIA es un teléfono móvil GSM desbloqueado que funciona en cualquier red GSM. Abrir la Tapa de la Batería Apaga el teléfono antes de extraer la batería. Dale la vuelta, con la pantalla hacia abajo y los botones hacia ti. La tapa para la batería en el teléfono móvil LUCIA es de una sola pieza y cubre el dorso entero del móvil.

Introducir/Extraer la Batería No presiones ni fuerces la batería al introducirla ya que podrás dañar el teléfono. Encontrarás puntos de contacto dorados en uno de los bordes de la batería.
La primera vez que enciendas el teléfono, te pedirá que indiques el idioma y la voz, y que configures la hora y la fecha. Utiliza las flechas para seleccionar el idioma deseado. LUCIA te lo repetirá. Para confirmarlo, pulsa OK. Utiliza las flechas para indicar el año actual. LUCIA te lo repetirá. Usa las flechas para seleccionar el mes y pulsa OK. Después, selecciona el día y pulsa OK. LUCIA te leerá la fecha completa que acabas de introducir. Ahora te pedirá que indiques la hora.
REALIZAR UNA LLAMADA Y CONTESTAR A UNA LLAMADA Desde la pantalla principal, puedes hacer una llamada fácilmente. Solo tienes que teclear el número usando el teclado y luego pulsar el botón verde cuadrado CALL y después el botón azul OK o CALL una vez más. Pulsa la tecla roja redonda END para eliminar un número equivocado. No necesitas esperar a que LUCIA lea todos los números en voz alta.
El Registro de llamadas contiene tres submenús: las Números marcados, Llamadas recibidas y Llamadas perdidas. Usa las flechas de navegación para resaltar el submenú que te interesa y pulsa OK para confirmar. Cada submenú detalla las llamadas por nombre si figuran en tu lista de contactos o por el número, de lo contrario. También detallará la cantidad de llamadas después de que se anuncie el nombre o número. Usa las flechas para navegar por la lista.
El teléfono asignará el tono de llamada predeterminado a todos los contactos nuevos. También puedes añadir un teléfono a tu lista de contactos desde el Registro de Llamadas o los Mensajes. Al entrar en el Registro de llamadas, resalta el número que quieres añadir a tus contactos y pulsa la tecla CERO. LUCIA te pedirá que introduzcas el nombre. Sigue los pasos detallados arriba, introduciendo el nombre manualmente. Para añadir un nombre desde tus mensajes, ve al buzón en el submenú de Mensajes y pulsa OK.

También puedes elegir a 911 como tu último número SOS para asegurar que das con socorros en el caso de que las otras llamadas SOS no se contestan.
