Do not expose the main station to moisture or direct sunlight. This product does not contain any parts that can be serviced by the user. The LEDs are not replaceable. To completely switch the product off, unplug the mains adapter from the outlet. Do not expose the product to an extremely high electromagnetic field. This may impair the correct functioning of the product.
Immediately seek medical attention if a cell or battery has been swallowed. Also, contact your local poison control center. In the event that the electrolyte comes into contact with the skin or eyes, immediately flush with fresh water for at least 15 minutes and seek medical attention. Store unused batteries in their original packaging or in safe place and away from metal objects that may short-circuit them.
Never charge a battery unless the battery label specifically states the battery is rechargeable. Charging a non-rechargeable battery, may result in leakage, fire, or explosion. Use only the power cord supplied with the product. The use of other cords may result in the batteries inside the product being charged. Do not open or mutilate a battery or cell. Initial use Note: First insert the batteries in the outdoor sensor, then the main station. Setting up the products ATTENTION: First start the outdoor sensor, then the main station. If possible, do not expose the outdoor sensor to direct sunlight. Place the main station on a horizontal, level surface or mount to a plumb wall. The outdoor sensor can be hung by the hanger 21 or place it on a horizontal, level surface.
Corded operation: Attach the power adapter plug 16 on the power adapter 14 into the connector socket 13 on the weather station and connect the power adapter 14 to an easily accessible outlet. Battery operation: Open the battery compartment 12 on the rear of the device by removing the battery compartment cover 15 . Insert two type AA batteries into the battery compartment 12 as shown. Close the battery compartment 12 again.
Press the TX button 22 to initiate the outdoor sensor radio signal manually. The weather station automatically starts to receive the WWVB signal after 3 minutes irrespective of whether the outdoor sensor reception search has been successful or not. The reception symbol flashes on the time panel 5 . If the reception symbol is not flashing completely on the display, this means that the reception of the WWVB signal is too weak and the time cannot be synchronized.
You may reactivate reception by pressing and holding the + / MEM 10 and – / CH button 9 for three seconds until a radio tower symbol in the time panel 5 becomes animated. The time can also be set manually. For more details please refer to section Basic settings. Wall-mounting the temperature station and / or the outdoor sensor: Note: This step requires an electric drill and a crosshead screwdriver.
Note: Never immerse the outdoor sensor in water and protect from direct sunlight. Electronic devices may adversely affect the wireless signal reception. 0.2 in/6 mm Once the main station has received the signal from the outdoor sensor and the WWVB signal, it enters into basic mode. In base mode the main station will display the following information: Displays in basic mode Once the weather station has received the outdoor sensor signal and the WWVB signal, it is in basic mode.
The date panel 1 The date of the current day is displayed next to the abbreviation D and the date of the current month appears next to the abbreviation M. The abbreviation for the current weekday is shown on the right. The language for this abbreviation is preset to English but can be changed if required. Please refer to the section Basic settings for details. The time panel 5 The time is shown in 12-hour format by default.
The outdoor temperature panel 3 The outdoor temperature is displayed with one decimal place. The temperature unit (degrees Celsius) is shown top right. The temperature unit can also be changed to (degrees Fahrenheit). If the temperature drops below the measuring range of -20 °C to 65 °C (or -4 °F to 149 °F) is shown; is shown if the temperature rises above this range. The relative humidity (in %) around the outdoor sensor is shown below the temperature display.
Press the – / CH button 9 or the + / MEM button 10 to select the required language. You can choose between German ( ), English ( ), Italian ( ), Spanish ( ) and French ( ). German ( ) is set as the standard language by default. Setting the alarm time and alarm day Press the ALARM button 7 to access alarm mode. The current alarm time setting and the display for the alarm mode are shown on the time panel 5 . Press and hold the ALARM button 7 for around 3 seconds. The hour display blinks.
Press the ALARM button 7 to confirm your entry. The display will now change back to basic mode. Activate / deactivate alarm function Press the ALARM button 7 to access alarm mode. The current alarm time set and the display for the alarm mode are shown on the time panel 5 . Press the ALARM button 7 briefly to activate the alarm function. The alarm symbol appears on the time panel 5 to indicate that the alarm function is active. Press the ALARM button 7 again briefly.
NAP timer function Press and hold the NAP button 6 button for around 3 seconds to set the duration of the nap timer. The currently set nap time will flash on the time panel 5 . Press the – / CH button 9 or the + / MEM button 10 to set the maximum value (from 5 minutes up to a maximum of 2 hours in 5-minute stages). Press the NAP button 6 to confirm your entry and to start the nap timer. The set time starts counting down. The alarm goes off for around 2 minutes once the time has been counted down.
Press and hold the + / MEM button 10 for around 3 seconds to delete the saved values. Background lighting The background lighting on the display switches off after around 10 seconds during battery operation to save the batteries. Press the SNOOZE / LIGHT button 8 to switch the display background lighting on for around 10 seconds. The display background lighting is permanently switched on during corded operation.
Select a radio channel by pushing the channel selector 24 to CH1, CH2 or CH3. Press and hold the – / CH button 9 until the reception signal flashes on the outdoor temperature panel 3 . Press the TX button 22 to manually initiate the outdoor sensor radio signal. If reception is successful, the temperature and moisture on the outdoor temperature panel 3 will now be displayed on the new radio channel. Close the battery compartment 25 again.
Charging USB devices CAUTION! 17 is only possible during corded Use of the USB sockets operation! Ensure that the power consumption of the USB device is not higher than 2.1 A if you are using just one of the USB sockets 17 . If the reception of the radio signal continues to be interrupted, you can turn on / off the automatic radio time receive function manually. Press and hold down the MODE 11 and + / MEM 10 button for about 3 seconds. WWVB is shown in the LC display, the automatic radio time receive function is turned off. Now you can set the time and date manually (see Changing basic settings). Press and hold down the MODE 11 and + / MEM 10 button for about 3 seconds again.
RESET function Pressing the RESET button 18 will reset the product, which will then need to be set up again. Troubleshooting This product has delicate electronic components. Radio transmitting equipment in the immediate vicinity may therefore interfere with the product. If the display shows interference, move such objects away from the product. Electrostatic discharge can cause malfunctions. If the product fails to work, briefly remove and reinsert the batteries. Obstacles, e.g.
Cleaning and care Never immerse the product in water or other liquids. These can damage the product. Use a dry, soft cloth for eyewear for cleaning and care.
