Installation 3 Installation Attaching the speakers to the unit 3 Installation To connect the cable to the unit, press each plastic finger pad to open the connection terminals on the unit. Insert the wire and release the finger pad. Connect the black end of each wire to the terminals marked - (minus) and the other end to the terminals marked + (plus).
Installation 15 Antenna Connection Connect the supplied FM (F) /AM (optional) (A) antenna for listening to the radio. Installation Connections to Your TV Component Video Connection Make one of the following connections, depending on the capabilities of your existing equipment. NOTE 3 Installation • Depending on your TV and other equipment you wish to connect, there are various ways you could connect the unit. Use only one of the connections described in this manual. • Please refer to the manuals of your TV, Stereo System or other devices as necessary to make the best connections.

Installation USB Connection USB device requirement Connect the USB port of USB Memory (or MP3 player, etc.) to the USB port on the front of the unit. • Devices which require additional program installation connected to a computer, are not supported. • Do not extract the USB device while in operation. • For a large capacity USB, it may take longer than a few minute to be searched. USB Connection • To prevent data loss, back up all data.
Installation Adjust the Setup settings By using the Setup menu, you can make various adjustments to items such as picture and sound. You can also set a language for the subtitles and the Setup menu, among other things. For details on each Setup menu item. When using this unit for the first time, the initial language setup menu appears on your TV screen. You must complete initial language selection before using the unit. English will be selected as the initial language. 1. Press POWER to turn the unit on.
Installation LANGUAGE DISPLAY Menu Language TV Aspect Select a language for the Setup menu and then on screen display. Select which screen aspect to use based on the shape of your TV screen. Disc Audio / Disc Subtitle / Disc Menu Select the language you prefer for the audio track (disc audio), subtitles, and the disc menu. 3 [Original] Refers to the original language in which the disc was recorded.

Installation LOCK (Parental Control) Password You can enter or change password. Initial Setting of the Area Code When you use this unit for the first time, you have to set the Area Code as shown below. 1. Select the [Lock] menu and then press i. 3 2. Press i. To access the [Lock] options, you must input the password you have created. Input a password and press ENTER. Enter it again and press ENTER to verify. Operation 25 TAPE Operation Listening to cassette tapes Cassette tapes can be played back in this unit. 1. Open the tape door by pressing Z PUSH EJECT. 2. Insert the tape. 3. Close the tape door. 4. Select the TAPE funtion by pressing TAPE on the unit or FUNCTION on the remote control. To Stop Do this Press x Press B on the remote control or < PRESET - / PRESET +> on the unit. Change direction Press B repeatedly on the remote control or < PRESET - / PRESET +> on the unit.
Operation Other Operations Displaying Disc Information on-screen You can display various information about the disc loaded on-screen. 1. Press DISPLAY to show various playback information. The displayed items differ depending on the disc type or playing status. 2. You can select an item by pressing U u and change or select the setting by pressing I i. 4 Title – Current title number/ total number of titles. Operation Chapter – Current chapter number/ total number of chapters.
Operation Starting play from selected time DVD DivX Creating your own program To start playing at any chosen time on the file or title. You can play the contents of a disc in the order you want by arranging the order of the songs on the disc. The program is cleared when the disc is removed. 1. Press DISPLAY during playback. 2. Press U u to select the time clock icon and “--:--:--” appears. 3. Input the required start time in hours, minutes, and seconds from left to right.
Operation Viewing a PHOTO file This unit can play discs with photo files. Viewing a PHOTO file as a slide show JPG 1. Select the DVD/CD or USB function by pressing FUNCTION. 1. Highlight the file (not folder) which you like beginning slide show. 2. Press U u to select a folder, and then press ENTER. A list of files in the folder appears. If you are in a file list and want to return to the previous folder list, use the U u buttons on the remote to highlight and press ENTER. 2.

You must select the appropriate system mode for your TV system. If “NO DISC” appears in the display window, press and hold PAUSE/STEP (X) for more than five seconds to be able to select a system.
Operation 31 AUTO DJ playback MP3 WMA NOTE ACD Auto DJ blends the end of one song into the beginning of another for seamless playback. It equalizes volume across tracks for uninterrupted playback. Press AUTO DJ on the remote control or unit repeatedly, the display changes as followings. order, (AUTO DJ RANDOM) ->(AUTO DJ SEQUENTIAL) -> (AUTO DJ OFF). Operation Radio Operations Presetting the Radio Stations You can preset 50 stations for FM and AM (optional) (MW). Be sure that both FM and AM (optional) aerials are connected. Operation Advanced Operations Listening to music from your external device The unit can be used to play the music from many types of external devices. (Refer to the page 17) 1. To enter to the DVD/CD(karaoke) mode by using FUNCTION (DVD/CD) xKARAOKE 5. Connect the microphone to the MIC jacks. 6. Press the melody number you want among the Numeric buttons from 0 to 9. To adjust ECHO Volume You can give an echo effect to the sound from the microphones.
Operation Using Microphone Reserving a song 1. Connect your microphone to the MIC1/ MIC 2 Jacks. “MIC IN” will be shown in the display window. When you want to make a reservation of next melody, you can enjoy the reservation without waiting. 2. Play the music you want. 3. Sing along with the accompaniment. Do not expose the disc to direct sunlight or sources of heat and never leave it in a parked car exposed to direct sunlight.
