About the Serial ATA Hard Drive Bay Adapter III The ThinkPad® Serial ATA Hard Drive Bay Adapter III is used to contain the 2.5-inch Serial ATA hard disk drive. It can only be installed into an Ultrabay™ media bay that is compatible with Serial ATA hard disk drives. Note: Be sure to verify with your place of purchase that the drive is compatible with your computer. Or, contact the Lenovo Customer Support Center for assistance.

Using the Serial ATA Hard Drive Bay Adapter III This section provides information on installing a supported hard disk drive into your Ultrabay media bay using the Serial ATA Hard Drive Bay Adapter III. Note: The adapter supports only the 2.5-inch Serial ATA hard disk drive. It does not support ThinkCentre® hard disk drives, Lenovo China hard disk drives, or hard disk drives from other companies.
Installing a new hard disk drive using the adapter To install a new hard disk drive using the adapter, do the following: 1. Lift the adapter retaining latch. 2. Insert the drive into the adapter at an angle. 3. Slide the drive into the connector until it locks into place.
4. Lower the adapter retaining latch until it snaps closed. 5. Insert the adapter into the Ultrabay media bay. Note: For information on the Ultrabay media bay, refer to your system documentation that comes with your computer. Installing the ThinkPad hard disk drive using the adapter To install a ThinkPad hard disk drive using the adapter, do the following: 1. Remove the hard disk drive by doing the following: a. Turn off your ThinkPad computer. b.
2. Lift the adapter retaining latch. 3. Insert the drive into the adapter, and then insert the adapter into the Ultrabay media bay by following step 1 to step 5 in “Installing a new hard disk drive using the adapter” on page 2-2.

Appendix B. Lenovo Limited Warranty L505-0010-01 04/2008 This Lenovo Limited Warranty applies only to Lenovo branded hardware products you purchased for your own use and not for resale. This Lenovo Limited Warranty is available in other languages at www.lenovo.com/ warranty. What this Warranty Covers Lenovo warrants that each hardware product that you purchase is free from defects in materials and workmanship under normal use during the warranty period.
What Your Service Provider Will Do to Correct Problems When you contact a Service Provider, you must follow the problem determination and resolution procedures specified. Your Service Provider will attempt to diagnose and resolve your problem over the telephone, e-mail, or through remote assistance. Your Service Provider may direct you to download and install designated software updates.
Your Additional Responsibilities Where applicable, before service is provided, you agree to: 1. follow the service request procedures that your Service Provider specifies; 2. backup or secure all programs and data contained in the product; 3. provide your Service Provider with all system keys or passwords and sufficient, free, and safe access to your facilities to perform service; and 4.
