DESCALING Lang Beverages descaling agent, when used correctly, helps to ensure the proper functioning of your appliance over its life-time and that your drinking experience is as perfect as on the first day. For instructions on how to descale, consult the section “Descaling” in the user manual. OVERVIEW 1.1 COMPONENTS BACK COVER LANGPAKS This package contains TheWell beverage system with the following accessories: 1 x Tap Water Jar With Lid 1 x Clean Water Jar With Lid 3 x Filter Cartridges (Sediment, Activated Carbon, RO Membrane). 1 x Power Cord 2 x Special Descaling Cartridges (SDC) FILTER LOCKS 6 5 1.
ENG ENG 2. START-UP GUIDE 2.2. INSERTING THE LANGPAK CONTAINERS (MINERALS AND FLAVOR) Before using TheWell for the first time, you’ll need to complete the Setup Process, which takes about xx minutes. TheWell’s display will guide you through the steps, and the following section explains them in detail. 2.1. INSTALLING THE FILTERS The system has three filters. All three are required for operation. ENG ENG 2.5 INSTALLING THE JARS 2.3 CONNECTING THE POWER There are two jars: A Tap Water Jar and a Clean Water Jar. 1. Fill the Tap Water Jar with water, almost all the way to the top. Attach the lid. Set the Tap Water Jar in the left docking station. Place the tap water jar on the left docking station. Connect the power cord. The machine will now turn on and display the language selection menu. IMPORTANT: Be sure that the jar is straight and firmly in position. Otherwise, water may leak. 2.
ENG ENG 2.7 SETTING THE DATE Set the current date. Use up Fill the Clean Water Jar to the top with tap water and place it on the right docking station. month, and year. ENG ENG The machine will now instruct the user to empty and refill the Tap Water Jar. Make sure the Tap Water Jar is filled with fresh water and correctly placed in the left docking station. Insert all three new filter cartridges as described in Section 2.1 above. Make sure the filters are properly seated, the levers are locked, and the rear cover is in place. The machine will now instruct the user to empty the Clean Water Jar and place it in the right docking station.
During this process, when the Tap Water Jar becomes empty or the Clean Water Jar becomes full, the machine will show one of the following two warnings: ENG ENG The machine will now start running water through the new filters. 4.5 liters of water (3 full Clean Water Jars) will need to be processed before the procedure is finished. 2.9. HOT CLEANING TheWell has an automated cleaning process; it uses the built-in boiler to create hot water to clean and sanitize the components inside the appliance.
ENG ENG 3. NORMAL OPERATION Empty the Clean Water Jar and insert it into the right docking station. After inserting it press OK 3.1 CUP MODE/NORMAL MODE to continue. TheWell has an intelligent feature to automatically detect when the spout is raised or lowered. When the spout is in the raised position, the machine will process a jar or bottle. When the spout is in the lowered position, the machine will process a cup. Fill levels for each mode can be independently configured in the “Configuration” menu.

ENG ENG 3.4 ENERGY SAVING MODE JAR/BOTTLE FILL LEVEL TheWell has a Stand-by feature that turns the machine off automatically to save energy. If the machine is on Standby, you can turn it on using the “Power” button or by pressing any of the HOT WATER, COLD WATER or FLAVOR buttons ( , , From this menu item, you can choose whether you want to use the LANG Clean Water Jar, the LANG Bottle, or your own custom bottle or jar.
ENG ENG CUP/GLASS FILL LEVEL HOT WATER TEMPERATURE From this menu item, you can choose how much water you want to process when the spout is in the lowered position. From this menu item, you can select the desired temperature for hot water processing. FLAVOR TEMPERATURE From this menu item, you can customize the temperature of hot flavored drinks. We have already selected the optimal serving temperature for LANGPAK+ flavored drinks, but you can adjust this temperature to your taste.
ENG ENG FLAVOR INTENSITY 4.2 MAINTENANCE MENU OPTIONS From this menu item, you can customize the intensity of flavored drinks. We have already selected the optimal concentration for LANGPAK+ flavored drinks, but you can use this menu to make them more or less intense. Most maintenance functions of the TheWell are automated, but they can also be started manually. The Maintenance menu allows you to begin processes that include hot cleaning, descaling, and changing the filters.
Choose Descaling and then press Yes to start the Descaling Procedure, described in Section 5.5. CHANGE FILTERS Choose Change filters and then press Yes to begin the process of changing the filters, described in Section 2.8. 28 ENG ENG DESCALING MAINTENANCE SCHEDULE From this menu item, you can check to see when the filters need to be replaced. This allows you to order them in advance. It also displays the next scheduled hot cleaning cycle.
Select Setup in the menu ENG ENG 4.3 SETUP MENU SET DATE to access the following settings: From this menu item, you can change the current date of the machine, as described in Section 2.7. If the machine has not been connected to power for a long time, it will prompt you to update the date. LANGUAGE WATER HARDNESS From this menu item, you can change the user interface language, as described in Section 2.4.
ENG ENG FACTORY RESET TheWell appliance has a self-protection feature that preserves the filter life when your tap water is particularly hard. You can test for water hardness using a water hardness strip (available from retailers). Select the correct value in the Water Hardness menu based on the following table: This function can be used to restore the appliance to the factory state. IMPORTANT: You will lose all your customizations if you perform this procedure.
ENG ENG 5. MAINTENANCE 5.4 HOT CLEANING 5.1 CLEANING Hot Cleaning is an automated process that uses the built-in boiler to create hot water to clean and sanitize the components inside the appliance. The Hot Cleaning Procedure, which takes about 5 minutes, is initiated automatically every two days. The automatic interval can be changed, and hot cleaning can also be started manually from the “Maintenance” menu.
ENG ENG IMPORTANT: To ensure the best life of your filters, we recommend you execute this procedure every 6 months, even if you are not sure about the hardness of your tap water or you know it is not hard. Make sure to lock the latches in place. Press OK to continue. Begin the Descaling Procedure by going into the “Maintenance menu” and selecting “Descaling.” The machine will prompt you to empty and refill the Tap Water Jar.
ENG ENG After the Tap Water Jar is properly inserted, the machine will prompt you to empty and place the Clean Water Jar into the right docking station. Once the automated procedure is finished, replace the Special Descaling Cartridges (SDC) with the original filter cartridges. The machine will now flush the internal pipes with two jars of water to remove all the descaling agent. Empty and refill the Tap Water Jar and place it in the left docking station.
ENG ENG The machine will now ask you to place an empty Clean Water Jar in the right docking station. Insert the jar and press OK to continue. The machine will now process the second full jar. The machine will now ask you to place an empty Clean Water Jar in the right docking sta tion. Insert the jar and press OK to continue. The machine has now been cleaned and the Descaling Procedure finished. The machine will now process one full jar.
ENG ENG 6. TROUBLESHOOTING Refer to this section if you experience problems during processing or use. IF THE MACHINE DOES NOT TURN ON MISSING TAP WATER JAR Insert the Tap Water Jar into the left docking station and wait for the error to disappear. Make sure the power cable is correctly attached and there is power at the outlet. Press “Power” (add power icon) to turn on the machine. If it fails to turn on, contact LANG Technical Support.
ENG ENG MINERAL MISSING The LANGPAK mineral containers are missing or not inserted correctly. Remove and re-insert. Make sure the lid closes completely. IMPORTANT: The machine will only operate when both Mineral A and Mineral B containers are inserted. The machine will also detect when the containers are empty and will stop operating until replaced. LANGPAK Mineral A and Mineral B containers are always changed together. LANGPAK ERROR You have inserted the wrong type of LANGPAK container (e.g.
ENG ENG ERROR 2 TOUCH ERROR 5 MICROPUMPS Remove the power cable, wait one minute, then plug it in again. If the problem persists, contact LANG Technical Support. This may occur if the LANGPAK containers have not been used for a long time. Remove the power cable and clean the LANGPAK compartment inside the machine with a damp, soapy cloth. Wipe off any soap residue with a damp cloth. Then remove the LANGPAK containers, shake them vigorously, and reinsert them into the machine.
