SINGLE CONTROL LAVATORY FAUCET

BEFORE YOU BEGIN

HOW TO USE THESE INSTRUCTIONS

Please read these instructions carefully to familiarize

yourself with the required tools, materials, and installation

sequences. Follow the sections that pertain to your partic-

ular installation. This will aid you in avoiding the unneces-

sary expense associated with improper installation. In

addition to proper installation, read all operating and safe-

ty instructions.

All information in these instructions is based on the latest

product information available at the time of publication.

characteristics, packaging, or availability at any time with-

out notice.

NOTES

 The valve in this faucet operates as follows:

Raising the lever handle opens the valve and

increases water flow. Turning the lever handle

clockwise increases the amount of hot water, while

turning the lever handle counter-clockwise

increases the amount of cold water.

 If supply tubes must be cut, allow for required

penetration into shut-off valve.

 Shut off main water supply.

 Observe all local plumbing codes.

 Carefully inspect waste and supply tubing for any

sign of damage. Replace if necessary.

 The round base supplied with this faucet is for use

on a single hole lavatory. If this faucet is to be

mounted on a three hole lavatory, order elongated

escutcheon (see ordering information).

installing lavatory.

FAUCET INSTALLATION Thread mounting stud into bottom of faucet body being careful not to cross-thread stud. Slip round base or escutcheon over copper tubing and into place on faucet base. Insert faucet tubing into hole in lavatory. Lavatory Round Base Tubing Fig. #4 From underside of lavatory, place bracket, spacer, and nut onto mounting stud. Position faucet so that lift rod is toward the back and lever handle is aligned with center of spout. Tighten nut securing faucet to lavatory. Remove excess putty from around base of faucet. DRAIN INSTALLATION Apply a ring of plumbers putty to underside of drain flange. Place locknut, washer and gasket (tapered side up) onto drain body. Insert drain body into underside of lavatory with drain lever hole facing to the rear of lavatory. Place nylon washers, flat washer and retaining nut onto ball lever. Insert ball lever assembly into drain lever hole and tighten retaining nut. Nylon Washer Ball Lever Retaining Nut Flat Washer Check that ball lever points to back of lavatory. Tighten locknut on drain body. Remove excess putty. Connect tailpiece to trap. Tailpiece should extend 1” to 2” into trap. Tailpiece Trap Fig. #11 SUPPLY TUBE AND SUPPLY STOP CONNECTIONS Coupling Nut Install lavatory now, if necessary, using lavatory manufacturer’s instructions. Allow for required penetration of supply tubes into supply stops. Cut supply tubes if necessary. Copper Tubing Compression Fittings: Slide coupling nut first, then ferrule, onto copper tubing. Place compression fittings over copper tubing. Hand-tighten coupling nuts.

INSTALLATION CHECKOUT Ensure all coupling nuts are tight. Ensure lever handle is in down position. Open drain. Turn on main water supply and check for leaks. Repair as required. Remove faucet nozzle. Lift and turn lever handle to run hot and cold water through spout for about a minute to remove any debris. Check for leaks at this time. Remove any debris from nozzle. Shut faucet off and reinstall nozzle. Nozzle Fig. #14 Kohler Co.
