SAFETY INFORMATION • Remove any adjusting key or wrench before turning the power tool on. A wrench or a key left attached to a rotating part of the power tool may result in personal injury. • Do not overreach. Keep proper footing and balance at all times. This enables better control of the power tool in unexpected situations. • Dress properly. Do not wear loose clothing or jewelry. Keep your hair and clothing away from moving parts. Loose clothes, jewelry or long hair can be caught in moving parts.
SAFETY INFORMATION • When battery pack is not in use, keep it away from other metal objects, like paper clips, coins, keys, nails, screws or other small metal objects, that can make a connection from one terminal to another. Shorting the battery terminals together may cause burns or a fire. • Under abusive conditions, liquid may be ejected from the battery; avoid contact. If contact accidentally occurs, flush with water. If liquid contacts eyes, additionally seek medical help.
SAFETY INFORMATION • Wear personal protective equipment. Depending on application, use face shield, safety goggles or safety glasses. As appropriate, wear dust mask, hearing protectors, gloves and workshop apron capable of stopping small abrasive or workpiece fragments. The eye protection must be capable of stopping flying debris generated by various operations. The dust mask or respirator must be capable of filtrating particles generated by your operation.
SAFETY INFORMATION • Do not attach a saw chain woodcarving blade or toothed saw blade. Such blades create frequent kickback and loss of control. Safety Warnings Specific for Polishing Operations: • Do not allow any loose portion of the polishing bonnet or its attachment strings to spin freely. Tuck away or trim any loose attachment strings. Loose and spinning attachment strings can entangle your fingers or snag on the workpiece.
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS 1. To Attach Battery Pack a. Align the raised portion on the battery pack with the grooves on the bottom of the tool, then slide the battery pack onto the tool, as shown. b. Make sure that the latches on the battery pack snap into place and the battery pack is secured to the tool before beginning operation.
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS 3. Variable-Speed Dial Adjust the polishing speed with the variable-speed dial (D). 3 Turn the dial to any position between “1” for the lowest speed and “5” for the highest speed. D WARNING • Never change the speed while the tool is running. Failure to obey this caution could make you lose control of the tool and result in serious personal injury. 4. Side Handle The side handle (L) may be installed on either side of the gear case.
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS To Remove the Bail Handle 1. Remove battery pack. 2. Loosen the screws with the hex wrench and remove the bail handle. 6. Inlet Vent Guard Using the inlet-vent guard (C) will increase the performance and extend the life of the tool. 5b 6 a. To remove the inlet-vent guard, insert a flat screwdriver (not included) into the notch at the top of the inlet-vent guard, and pry it away from the tool. b. To attach the inlet-vent guard, snap the guard into the tool’s foot.
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS In general, coarse grit will remove the most material and finer grit will produce the best finish in all polishing operations. The condition of the surface to be polished will determine which grit and type will do the job. Start on a test sample of the workpiece. a. Remove the battery from the tool. b. Align the polishing disc with the base plate (F), then press the fuzzy side of the pad against the plate as tightly as possible. 8.
CARE AND MAINTENANCE WARNING • All maintenance should only be carried out by a qualified service technician. Cleaning WARNING • Before cleaning or performing any maintenance, remove the battery pack. For safe and proper operation, always keep the tool and its ventilation slots clean. • Always use only a soft, dry cloth to clean your polisher; never use detergent or alcohol.
TROUBLESHOOTING WARNING Place the switch trigger (B) in the OFF position and remove the battery before performing troubleshooting procedures. INFORMACIÓN DE SEGURIDAD Contragolpe y advertencias relacionadas El contragolpe es una reacción repentina de un disco de rotación, base, cepillo u otro accesorio atascado o enganchado. INSTRUCCIONES DE FUNCIONAMIENTO 1. Para fijar el paquete de baterías a. Alinee la parte elevada del paquete de baterías con las ranuras de la parte inferior de la herramienta y luego deslice el paquete de baterías en la herramienta, como se muestra. b. Asegúrese de que los pestillos del paquete de baterías encajen en su lugar y que el paquete de baterías esté fijo en la herramienta antes de comenzar la operación.

INSTRUCCIONES DE FUNCIONAMIENTO Para retirar la manija de anillo: 1. Retire el paquete de baterías. 2. Afloje los tornillos con la llave hexagonal y retire la manija de anillo. 6. Protector de la entrada de ventilación El uso del protector de la entrada de ventilación (C) incrementará el rendimiento y extenderá la vida útil de la herramienta. 5b 6 a.
INSTRUCCIONES DE FUNCIONAMIENTO Seleccionar el tamaño de grano y el tipo de almohadilla de pulido correctos es un paso muy importante para alcanzar un acabado de alta calidad. Generalmente, el grano grueso elimina la mayor cantidad de material y el grano más fino produce el mejor acabado en todas las operaciones de pulido. La condición en la que se encuentre la superficie que se pulirá determinará con qué grano y tipo se realizará mejor el trabajo. Primero, pruebe sobre una muestra de la pieza de trabajo.
CUIDADO Y MANTENIMIENTO ADVERTENCIA • Todo el mantenimiento debe estar a cargo únicamente de un técnico de servicio calificado. Limpieza ADVERTENCIA • Antes de limpiar o realizar cualquier mantenimiento, retire el paquete de baterías. Para un uso seguro y adecuado, siempre mantenga limpias la herramienta y sus ranuras de ventilación. • Siempre use un paño suave y seco para limpiar la pulidora, nunca use detergente ni alcohol.
SOLUCIÓN DE PROBLEMAS ADVERTENCIA Coloque el interruptor tipo gatillo (B) en la posición de APAGADO y retire el paquete de baterías antes de realizar los procedimientos de solución de problemas.
