Getting Connected

3. From the pop-up menu, tap Bluetooth Setting → Mode, and tap

the check box to turn on or off the Bluetooth function of your

Pocket PC Phone.

Using the Start Menu

1. Tap

→ Settings → Connections → Bluetooth.

2. To turn on Bluetooth, select the Turn on Bluetooth check box. To make your device discoverable for

information exchange, select the Make this device discoverable to other devices check box.

To turn off Bluetooth, clear the Turn on Bluetooth check box.

3. Tap

OK.

• By default the Bluetooth radio is turned off. If you turn it on, and then turn off your device, the

Bluetooth radio also turns off. When you turn on your device again, the Bluetooth radio turns on

automatically.

Bluetooth Information Exchange

Beaming Information with Bluetooth

1. Turn on the Bluetooth as described earlier in the “Turning on and off Bluetooth” section.

2. Tap and hold an item to beam, such as an appointment in Calendar, a task in Tasks, a contact card in

Contacts, or a ﬁle in File Explorer.

3. Tap

Beam [type of item].

4. Your Pocket PC Phone will search for Bluetooth devices within a range of about 10 meters (30 feet) and

display the device names on the screen. Tap the device to which you want to send the beam.

Receiving a Bluetooth Beam

1. Tap

→ Settings → Connections → Beam.

2. Turn on the Bluetooth as described earlier in the “Turning on and off Bluetooth” section.

3. Make sure that the device is powered on, discoverable, and within 10 meters (30 feet) of your device.

4. When prompted to receive an incoming beam, tap Yes

13-9 S600 User Manual Bonding with Other Devices A bond is a relationship that you create between your Pocket PC Phone and another Bluetooth device in order to help exchange information in a secure manner. Creating a bond involves entering the same PIN on the two devices you want to bond. Once a bond is created, the devices need only have their Bluetooth radios turned on to exchange information; they do not need to be in discoverable mode. Creating a Bond 1.

Make sure that the Bluetooth phone is powered on, that your device’s and the phone’s Bluetooth radios are turned on, and that your device and the phone are placed within 10 meters (30 feet) of one another. 2. Please perform the following:  Delete ﬁles that you no longer need: tap → Programs → File Explorer.  Delete programs that you no longer need: tap → Settings → System → Remove Programs.  Adjust memory allocation: tap → Settings → System → Memory → Main.  Delete all ﬁles and history in Internet Explorer: tap → Internet Explorer → Tools → Options → Memory.

Troubleshooting 15-4 S600 User Manual Problem Solution Network connection is not working properly.  If using an external modem, make sure that the modem is installed properly and the dial-up phone number is correct.  If using a network card, make sure that it is installed properly.  Make sure the network connection settings are correct: tap → Settings → Connections → Connections.  Consult the network administrator if the user name and password are correct.

This phone is designed and manufactured not to exceed the emission limits for exposure to radio frequency (RF) energy set by the Federal Communications Commission of the U.S. Government.
