If your television has a normal (4:3) screen, select “4:3 PS ” (cuts both sides of the “wide” picture) or “4:3 LB ” (with masking bars to maintain the “wide” aspect ratio).

It restricts playback of DVD discs which contains violent (and other) scenes according to the level set by the user. For example, by setting the Parental level strictly, when a movie which includes violent scenes is played back , the scenes are cut or replayed with other scenes in order not to be seen by children.

Since discs are made of plastic, they are easily damaged. If a disc gets dirty, dusty, scratched or warped, the images and sound will not be picked up correctly, and such a disc may cause the player to malfunction.
