Shutting down the Device
Occasionally,youmayneedtoperformahardwareresetwhen
thedevice stopsrespondingorifitappears tobe “frozen”or
unresponsive. Toshutdownthedevice,pressandholdthe
Powerbuttonuntilthesystempowersoff.
Ifthesystemdoesnotshutdownbykeeping
thePowerbuttonpressed,youcanforceitto
shutdownbyinsertingasmallrod(suchas
astraightenedpaperclip)intothe
Shutdownbuttononthedevice.

Thedeviceprovides4functionkeystocontrolthecorresponding
iconsdisplayedontheLCDscreen. Thekeys'functionsmayvary
ondifferentscreens.

Setting the Date and Time
Tomakesurethatthedateandtimeofyourrecordingsare
correct,checkthesettingsbeforeyoubeginrecording.
1. Press toaccesstheSettingsMenu.
2. Select System > Date/Time.
3. Use /
press andrepeatthestepuntilallfieldshavebeen
changed.
Event Recording
Bydefault,ifaneventhappenssuchasasuddenimpact,
highspeeddriving,anaggressiveturnoranaccidental
crashduringcontiniousrecording,theGsensorwillprompt
thedevicetostartrecordingtheevent.

Setting up a Wireless Connection
Onyourdevice,select >Wireless LAN>Ontoenablethe
wireless LAN mode. Once enabled, the wireless LAN setting
screendisplaystheSSIDandpasswordofthedevice.
Onyoursmartphone,followthestepstosetupthewireless
connection.
1. EnablethewirelessLANfunctiononthesmartphone.
2. OpentheJVCDVRLinkappandfollowtheon-screen
instructionstosetuptheconnection.
OpenthewirelessLANsettingofthesmartphonetodisplay
thedetecteddevices.Fromthelist,selectthedeviceyou
wanttoconnecttoandthenenterthepassword.
Thenexttimeyouuseyoursmartphonetoconnecttothe
device,youwillnotbepromptedtoenterthepassword
againunlessyouresetyourphonetothefactorydefault
settings.
Note: Theinstructions aboutoperatingthesmartphoneare for
referenceonly.Theactualsettingoptionsandmethodsmayvary
dependingonyourphonetype/modelandtheappversion.
1. Press >File Playback

2. Selectthedesiredtype.
3. Selectthedesiredfilefromthelistandthenpress
to
startplayback.
4. Duringplayback,youcan:

toplaytheprevious/nextvideo;press
andholdthebuttonstofastrewind/forwardthevideo.
Press
toreturntothelist.
Press todisplaythepop-upmenutoselect:
Play/Pause:Startorpausestheplayback.
Move to Event:Movethefiletothe“Event”category.
Transfer to phone:Uploadtheselectedvideotoyour
smartphone.
Delete:Deletethefile.
Whileviewingphotos
Press /
todisplaytheprevious/nextphoto.
Press toreturntothelist.
Press todisplaythepop-upmenutoselect:
Transfer to phone:Uploadtheselectedphototoyour
smartphone.
Delete:Deletethefile.
Ifyouwanttomanuallystartaneventrecordingwhile
continuousrecordingisinprogress,presstheEvent

Theeventrecordingwillsavemomentsbeforeand
momentsevent.Whenyourmemorycardfillsupwithevent
recordings,itwillrecordovertheoldestexistingfilesin

How to install
1. Makesurethatyourcarisparkedonlevelground.Usea
commerciallyavailablecleaningclothtowipeoffanydirtor
greasefromthelocationyouaremountingthedevice.
Followtheinstructionsbelowtosecurelymountyour
deviceinavehicle.

2. Adjustthelensangle.Whenadjustingtheangleofmounting,
makesurethatthecameraʼsviewisparallelwiththelevel
groundandtheground/skyratioiscloseto6/4.
3. Connectthecables.Routethecablesthroughthetopceiling
andtheA-pillarsothatitdoesnotinterferewithdriving.
Makesurethatthecableinstallationdoesnotinterferewith
thevehicleʼsairbagsorothersafetyfeatures.
Using a Memory Card
Youmustinsertamemorycardbeforeyoucanstartrecording.
YoushoulduseseparateMicroSDcardsforrecordingandfor
regulardatastorage.
Holdthecard(MicroSD)bytheedgesandgently
insertitintotheslotasshownintheillustration.
Toremoveacard,gentlypushthetopedgeof
thecardinwardstoreleaseitandpullitoutofthe
slot.
Formatting a Card
Toformatamemorycard(alldatawillbeerased),
press > Format.
Note:
DONOTapplypressuretothecentreofthememorycard.
Themanufacturerdoesnotguaranteetheproductʼs
compatibilitywithmemorycardsfromallmanufacturers.
Beforeyoustartrecording,pleaseformatthememorycardto
avoidmalfunctioncausedbyfilesnotcreatedbythedevice.
Turnthedeviceoffbeforeremovingthememorycard.
Turning the Device On
Completetheinstallationaccordingtotheinstructionsinthe
“Usingyourdeviceinavehicle”section.Oncethevehicleengine
isstarted,thedeviceautomaticallyturnson. TheSystem
indicatorglowsingreenwhenthedeviceispowered.
Power Button
PressandholdthePowerbuttonfor2secondstomanuallyturn
thedeviceonandoff.
Camera Mode
Thedeviceallowsyoutotakeaphoto.Dooneofthefollowing:
Iftherecordingisinprogress,press totakeaphoto.
Press >Camera> .
Thephotoscanbefoundinthe“Photo”categoryforfileplayback.
Playback Mode
Toselectavideoorphotoforplayback:

Recording in Driving Mode
Continuous Recording
Bydefault,thesystemwillautomaticallybegincontinuous
recordingshortlyafterstart-up.TheSystemindicatorflashes
ingreenandamberalternatelywhiletherecordingisin
progress.
Therecordingmaybedividedintoseveralvideoclips;
recodingwillnotstopbetweenvideoclips.Whenyour
memorycardfillsupwithcontinuousrecordings,itwill
automaticallyrecordovertheoldestexistingfilesinthis
category.
When continuous recording is in progress, you can
manuallystoprecordingbypressing
.Press
to
returntotherecordingscreen,thesystemwillstart
continuousrecordingautomatically.
Thecontinuousrecordingscanbefoundinthe“Video”
categoryforfileplayback.
