In-Car Connections • Once the connection is established, it is registered in the unit until you initialise the Bluetooth settings (page 44) or the unit itself (page 44). Up to five devices can be registered in total. • To use the Bluetooth function, you need to turn on the Bluetooth function of the device. Digital Radio (DAB) DAB (Digital Audio Broadcasting) is one of the digital radio broadcasting systems available today. It can deliver digital quality sound without any annoying interference or signal distortion. Furthermore, it can carry text and data. In contrast to FM broadcast, where each programme is transmitted on its own frequency, DAB combines several programmes (called “services”) to form one “ensemble.
Digital Radio (DAB) [TI] [MODE] (For RDS features) Activates TI Standby Reception mode. • When TI is activated, the unit is ready to switch to traffic information if available. The TI indicator lights up in white. • If the TI indicator lights up in orange, tune in to another service providing Radio Data System signals. • The volume adjustment for traffic information is automatically memorised. The next time the unit switches to traffic information, the volume is set to the memorised level.

Bluetooth® Device You can use the mobile phone and portable audio player connected through Bluetooth. • While using Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, or USB Mirroring, use their features for hands-free phones and audio playback. (The Bluetooth device currently connected is disconnected when an iPhone with Apple CarPlay or an Android device with Android Auto is connected.) Note • While driving, do not perform complicated operations such as dialing numbers, using the phone book, etc.

WARNINGS Preparation Removing the battery sheet Pull the battery sheet out from the remote controller to activate the battery. Installation and Connection This section is for the professional installer. For safety’s sake, leave wiring and mounting to professionals. Consult the car audio dealer. WARNINGS • DO NOT connect the ignition wire (red) and the battery wire (yellow) to the car chassis (ground), you may cause a short circuit, that in turn may start a fire. • DO NOT cut out the fuse from the ignition wire (red) and the battery wire (yellow). The power supply must be connected to the wires via the fuse.

Using the GPS aerial other than the supplied one may cause a drop in positioning accuracy. • Depending on the type of car, reception of the GPS satellite signals might not be possible with an inside installation. • Please install the supplied GPS aerial (‘) in an area away from any aerials that are used with CB radios or satellite televisions.

Troubleshooting What appears to be trouble is not always serious. Check the following points before calling a service centre. • For operations with external components, refer also to the instructions supplied with the adapters used for connection (as well as the instructions supplied with the external components). General No sound comes out of the speakers. → Adjust the volume to the optimum level. → Check the cords and connections. The unit does not work at all. → Initialise the unit (page 44).
Troubleshooting The Home screen appears while using Apple CarPlay. → Wi-Fi is disconnected. Android Auto: [Android Auto] is not highlighted on the source/ option selection screen. → Check whether [Android Auto] is selected in the (page 44). → Check the version of the connected Android device – whether it is compatible with Android Auto. → Check the Android device is connected properly for Android Auto. You can check the connection referring to the screen.
Troubleshooting “Antenna Error” appears. → The aerial has a short-circuit and the protective circuit has activated. → Check the Digital Radio aerial. If a passive aerial without a booster is used, set aerial power to “OFF”. Tuner SSM automatic presetting does not work. → Store stations manually (page 27). Static noise while listening to the radio. → Connect the aerial firmly. AV-IN No picture appears on the screen. While driving, no video is shown. You can only listen to the sounds.
