Read this page carefully to ensure safe operation.
Installation and wiring
I A WARNING I
• Do not use this unit on ve hicles except those that are equipped w ith a
DC12V / DC24V s uppl y. Thi s may cause a fire or malfunction.
• Never in sta ll orwiretheunitina locationthat w ill obst ructtheoperation of
theairbag.Theairbagmaymalfunction,resultinginafatalaccident.When
in sta llingtheunitina ve hiclefitted wit hairbags,c heckthe wo rkprecau-
tionswiththevehiclemanufacturer.
Do not install the unit in a location that ma y interfere wit h the v isibilit y or
drivingoperation,orinalocationthatmayposeadangertopassengers.This
mayresultinatrafficaccidentorinjury.
Afte r installing and w iring the unit , check that the electrical equipment of
the ve hicle is wo rking properly. W hen the electrical equipment(meters,
brakelamps,etc.)ofthevehicleisusedinanabnormaloperatingcondition,
thismaycauseafireortrafficaccident.
Do not use the unit if it is plugged in ve ry loosel y or very firmly into the
accessory socket. The USB car charger of the unit ma y not fit the size of the
accessory socket depending on the ve hicle model , re s ulting in an electric
shock,shortcircuitorfire.
• Pluginthecablesecurely.lfthecablecannotbepluggedinsecurely,this
ma y resultinafireorelectricshockduetopoorcontact.
• Do not place the unit in a place wit hin the reach of infant s and children.
The cable ma y be wo und around the neck of the infant or child by mistake ,
causing asphyxiation.
• lnstalland w iretheunitaccordingtotheinstructionmanual.lfnot ,t hisma y
causeafireormalfunction.Carryouttheworkcorrectlyinaccordancewith
the procedure.
• Besuretousetheenclosedpartsorspecifiedparts.Theunitmaybedam-
aged or you ma y not be able to secure it properly, resulting in the uni t
gettingdetachedandcausinganaccident,malfunctionorfire.
Makesurethecableisnotsandwichedbythevehiclebody,screws,seatrail
and other mo v ing parts.This maycauseafire,electricshockormalfunction
duetoadisconnectionorshortcircuit.
La yandsecurethecablesoas nottointerfere w iththeoperation. W hen
thecableiswoundaroundthesteeringwheel,shiftleverorbrake,thismay
re s ultinatrafficaccident.
UsetheUSBcarchargerthatisenclosedwiththeunit. W hen a USBcar
chargerotherthantheonefromtheunitisused,thismayresultinafireor
electric shock.
Plug in the USB car charger fully. If the cable cannot be plugged in securely,
thismayresultinafireorelectricshockduetopoorcontact.
W hen unpluggingtheUSBcarcharger,holdtheplugsecurelytounplug it. If
not ,t hisma ydamaget hecableorre s ultinafireorelectricshock.
UnplugtheUSBcarchargerafteruseor whenyouarenotgoingtouseit
for a long time. Depending on the vehicle model , the power supply of the
accessorysocketmaynotbeturned offeveniftheengineisturnedoff.This
maycauseafireorthebatterytoheatup.
• CleantheUSBcarchargerregularly.WhenduststickstotheUSBcarcharger,
thismayresultinafire.
• Do not insert or remove the USB car charger w ith wet hand s. This may result
in an electric shock.

• Do not install the unit in a place w here it ma y be splashed by water, or w here
thereisalotofmoistureandoil.Whenwater,oilfumes,etc.getinsidethe
unit ,t hisma yres ultinfumingorafireormalfunction.
• Donotinstalltheunitina location exposedtodirectsunlightorhotairfrom
aheater.Theinternaltemperatureoftheunitmayrise,resultinginafireor
malfunction.
• Be careful w ith the handling of the cable . Do not damage the cable, pull,
bend,twistormodifythecable unreasonably , putheavyobjectsonit,orlay
itnearthermaldevices.Thismayresultinafire,electricshockormalfunction
duetoadisconnectionorshortcircuit.
Do not block the s uction inlet and air outlet of the unit. Heat ma y build up
insidetheunit , resultinginafireormalfunction.
• Do not install the unit in an un stab le location. This ma y re s ult in a traffic
accidentorinjuryduetotheunitfallingdown.
How to use the unit

Do not disassemble, repair or modify the unit. Never disassemble, repair or
modifytheunit,orcutoffthecablesheathingtodrawpowerfromother
devices.Thismayresultinatrafficaccident,fire,electricshockormalfunction.
Do not allow wate r or foreign matter to get inside the unit. W hen metallic
objectsorfiammable materialsetc.getin sidetheunit ,t hi s ma y resultina
fire , fuming , ignition orelectricshockduetoa malfunction or s hort circuit.
Becarefulnottoletdrinksetc.splashontotheunit.
Do notusetheunitin a faulty or abnormal condition. If foreign matter gets
intotheunit ,o r wate ri ssp lashedontotheunit ,ors moke ,ab normalnoise s
orodorsappear,stopusingtheunitimmediately. Thi s ma y resultinanacci-
dent,fireorelectricshock.
• The driver should not operate the unit or l ook at the images and displays
w hiledri v ing.Al waysstopt he ve hicleinasafeplaceand use the unit w ith
the side brake engaged. lfnot , this may re s ult in a trafficaccident.
• W henyouhearthunder ,donotto uchthecableandtheunit.Thismayresult
inanelectricshockduetoalightningstrike.

• Donotthrowtheunit,orsubjectittoshock.Thismayresultinafire,injuryor
malfunction.
• Do not u se or lea ve the unit in a place that is exposed to high temperature
andhumiditye.g.nearafire,stoveorbathroom.Thismayresultinoverheat-
ing ,fi reorcracks.
• Beforeuse,checkforanycigaretteresidueordustinsidetheaccessorysocket.

causingoverheating,fireorinjury.
• Check each connection before use. Do not use the unit ifit is stained w ith
dustetc.,oriftheconnectors, connection terminals, etc.are deformed or
damaged.Thismayresultinashortcircuitorfire.
Whentheunitisinoperation withthe ve hicleke yp ulled out or w ith th e
engine sw itch turned off, pull out the connector from the USB port. If no t,
thismaycauseafireorthebatterytoheatup.

Troubleshooting guide
Power cannot be turned on (('.)indicator does not light).
•ConnecttheUSB-DCcableallthewayandfirmly.
•lnserttheUSBcarchargertotheaccessorysocketwiththe
engine running.
Not enough air is output./ The unit emits a bad smell.
Theunitorfilterisdirt y.Rep lacethefilter w itha ne w one.

The operation does not stop although the engine of
vehicle is switched OFF./The unit does not operate in
conjunction with engine.
lna ve hicle w herethep owe ris s uppliedtotheaccessor ysocket
even iftheengineofvehicle is switched OFF, the engine inter -
lockingfunctioncannotbeused.Topre ve ntbatteryrise , remove
theUSBcarchargerfromtheaccessorysocket.
There is a "jee" sound from the unit.
There isa slight sound w hen ion s is taking place . This is not
a malfunction.
There is a abnormal sound from the unit.
Malfunction has occurred onthisunit.Consultyour JVCdealer.
