Integration instructions for host product manufacturers according to KDB
996369 D03 OEM Manual v01
General
Sections 2.2 through 2.10 of KDB 996369 D03 describe the items that must be provided in the
integration instructions for host product manufacturers (e.g., OEM instruction manual) to use when
integrating a module in a host product.
2.2 List of applicable FCC / ISED rules
FCC:
ISED:
47 CFR Part 15, Subpart C, Intentional radiators:
§§ 15.207/209/225
Industry Canada RSS-210, Licence-exempt Radio Apparatus:
Category I Equipment
2.3 Specific operational use conditions
The 13.56 MHz RFID System is exclusively for use by the grantee in its own products (Ivoclar
Vivadent). The module called TS-ModIV consists of an electronic (TS-HRW390-1437) and two
antennas (TS-AH20-1854) mounted on a panel made from plastic.
2.4 Limited module procedures
Ivoclar Vivadent must control the host environment and is responsible for the sufficient manufacturing
because no user manual for the module exists.
2.5 Trace antenna designs
Not applicable. The module brings its own antenna TS-AH20-1854.
2.6 RF exposure considerations
The RF exposure was tested for mobile equipment:
Maximum electric field [V/m @ 20cm] 1.0
Maximum magnetic field [A/m @ 20 cm] 0.008
The distance to the user must be at least 20 centimeters. The installation of the module is restricted to
devices from Ivoclar Vivadent so Ivoclar Vivadent has control over all relevant conditions.
2.7 Antennas
TS-AH20-1854 (pcb-antenna) is the only suitable antenna. The mounting must be identical to the
configuration as in the approval documents stated.
2.8 Label and compliance information
Although the module has its own label, the host additionally need to provide a physical or e-label
stating “Contains FCC ID” with their finished product. See Guidelines for Labeling and User
Information for RF Devices KDB Publication 784748.
2.9 Information on test modes and additional testing requirements
No test mode exist. If necessary, the host must send or read as often as needed to perform tests.
2.10 Additional testing, Part 15 Subpart B disclaimer requirements
The modular transmitter is only FCC authorized for the specific rule parts listed on the grant. We, the
host product manufacturer, is responsible for compliance to any other FCC rules that apply to the host
not covered by the modular transmitter grant of certification. The final host product still requires Part
15 Subpart B compliance testing with the modular transmitter installed.
