Installation Guide

Be aware that some old caulking may be silicone-based and that tile,
stone and other building materials may come with a thin layer of silicone
release. All silicone MUST be removed 100% from the surface where
InstaTrim will be installed to ensure proper adhesion.
We recommend using Acetone for silicone removal.

SILICONE MUST BE REMOVED 100% FROM THE
APPLICATION SURFACE PRIOR TO INSTALLATION
Be Aware of Silicone - Silicone caulk and
silicone sealant must be removed 100% prior to
installling InstaTrim strips. Instructions included.
DO NOT use Mineral Spirits or other cleaners
that contain oil, wax or silicone in the ingredi-
ents for surface prep.
Prior to installation - unrolling the strip and letting
it lay flat will help to make it easier to work with.
Clean the Application Area - remove loose debris
and dust, wipe down the area with acetone and
let dry completely.
Use InstaTrim at Room Temperature - Do not
install in temperatures below 68° F.
Press FIRMLY Into Place - InstaTrim’s adhesive
needs to spread in order to grab and adhere to
the application surface. We recommend using the
InstaTrim Applicator Tool to make installation easier!
Avoid Stretching - stretching as you work will
result in the trim shrinking back from the ends of
the application area and may cause the adhesive
to lose its grip.
Tight Curves - use a hair dryer to warm the strip
to make it easier to work with and look smooth
around a tight curve.
Ventilation - always use ventilation in enclosed areas
when working with any solvent cleaning solution.
