R DANGER! NEVER use or charge Icom battery packs with non-Icom transceivers or non-Icom chargers. Only Icom battery packs are tested and approved for use with Icom transceivers or charged with Icom chargers. Using third-party or counterfeit battery packs or chargers may cause smoke, fire, or cause the battery to burst. R WARNING! NEVER hold the transceiver so that the antenna is very close to, or touching exposed parts of the body, especially the face or eyes, while transmitting.
■■ Important notes DDAbout the GPS receiver •• Do not cover the antenna with anything that will block the satellite signals. •• GPS signals cannot pass through metal objects. When using the transceiver inside a vehicle, you may not receive GPS signals. We recommend you use it near a window. •• The GPS receiver may not work if used in the following locations: 1. 2 BATTERY CHARGING ■■ Battery caution Misuse of Li-ion batteries may result in the following hazards: smoke, fire, or the battery may rupture. Misuse can also cause damage to the battery or degradation of battery performance. CAUTION: DO NOT continue to use the battery pack if it emits an abnormal odor, heats up, or is discolored or deformed. If any of these conditions occur, contact your Icom dealer or distributor. R DANGER! NEVER solder the battery terminals, or NEVER modify the battery pack.
■■ Charging caution R DANGER! NEVER charge the battery pack in areas with extremely high temperatures, such as near fires or stoves, inside a sun-heated vehicle, or in direct sunlight. In such environments, the safety/ protection circuit in the battery will activate, causing the battery to stop charging. 2 ENGLISH BATTERY CHARGING 1 2 3 R WARNING! NEVER charge the transceiver during a lightning storm. It may result in an electric shock, cause a fire or damage the transceiver.
2 BATTERY CHARGING ■■ Battery charger NOTE: Before attaching or detaching a battery pack, BE SURE to turn OFF the transceiver by rotating [VOL] fully counter clockwise until it makes a “click” sound. Otherwise, a transceiver malfunction could occur. ■■ Construction The Menu screen is constructed in a tree structure. You can go to the next tree level with [RIGHT] or [OK], go back a level with [LEFT] or [BACK]. To select an item, push [UP] or [DOWN]. See the OPERATING MANUAL for each menu item’s details. You can download the OPERATING MANUAL from the Icom website. CAUTION: DO NOT transmit without an antenna. • The transceiver searches a satellite. • When the transceiver connected and registered to the satellite, the status “IDLE,” transceiver name, and Talkgroup name is displayed. L Push [TG List] to display the Talkgroup list. L Rotate Talkgroup selector to select a talkgroup.

2 CHARGE DE LA BATTERIE ■■ Mise en garde concernant la batterie Une mauvaise utilisation des batteries au Li-ion présente les risques suivants : dégagement de fumée, incendie ou éclatement de la batterie. Une mauvaise utilisation peut également endommager la batterie ou en dégrader ses performances. R DANGER ! NE JAMAIS souder les bornes de la batterie NI modifier le bloc-batterie. Ceci peut provoquer une surchauffe de la batterie, qui risque alors d'éclater, de fumer ou de prendre feu.
VEILLEZ à remplacer le bloc-batterie par un neuf après environ cinq ans, même s'il maintient la charge. Les matériaux présents à l'intérieur des cellules de la batterie se détériorent après un certain temps, même en cas d'utilisation réduite. L'estimation du nombre de fois que vous pouvez recharger le bloc est comprise entre 300 et 500. Même lorsque le bloc semble complètement chargé, le temps de fonctionnement de l'émetteurrécepteur peut être réduit si : • Le bloc a été fabriqué il y a environ 5 ans.
2 CHARGE DE LA BATTERIE ■■ Chargeur de batterie REMARQUE : Avant d'installer ou d'enlever un bloc-batterie, ASSUREZ-VOUS d'éteindre l'émetteur-récepteur en tournant la molette [VOL] complètement dans le sens antihoraire, jusqu'à ce qu'elle émette un « clic ». Dans le cas contraire, un dysfonctionnement de l'émetteur-récepteur peut se produire.
■■ Construction L'écran Menu est construit selon une structure arborescente. Vous pouvez naviguer vers le niveau d'arborescence suivant avec [RIGHT] ou [OK], revenir au niveau précédent avec [LEFT] ou [BACK]. Pour sélectionner un élément, appuyez sur [UP] ou [DOWN]. Reportez-vous au MODE D'EMPLOI pour en savoir plus sur chaque élément du menu. Vous pouvez télécharger le MODE D'EMPLOI depuis le site web d'Icom.

L Appuyez sur [TG List] pour afficher la liste des groupes d'appel. L Tournez le sélecteur Groupe de conversation pour sélectionner un groupe de conversation.
