1. Appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), MUST be worn at all times when machine is in use or being repaired. SAFETY 1.1. General safety notes. 1.1.1. The operator of the machine is responsible for, and has a duty of care in making sure that the machine is operated safely and in accordance with the instructions in this user manual. Keep the manual safe and pass it on if the machine is loaned or sold to another user. 1.1.2. Please note the following safety points. 1.1.2.1.

This guide is meant to serve as a quick reference for operating your Hyundai HYMT5080 5 in 1 Multi-Tool. It is for convenience and the user should read the safety section first. OUTDOOR USE ONLY. This brush-cutter produces carbon monoxide - a poisonous, colourless & odourless gas that can cause death or serious injury.
Take bottom half of the lower handle and locate it into the groove of therubber sleeve. Take the upper half of the lower handle and place it above and over the rubber sleeve. Secure it into place using the 4 Allen bolts. Before tightening adjust position to suit the user.
2.5. Hedge Trimmer assembly. Place hedge trimmer assembly onto a firm work surface. Remove the Central screw and keep it safe. Loosen the second screw. Push shaft into hedge trimmer keeping the locating hole upwards.
Once shaft is locate you can insert and tighten the central screw, then tighten the second scree. Hedge trimmer head adjustment. To adjust head pull out the lock pin and press both top and bottom handles move head to desired position. Head can rotate 90° in both direction giving a total head movement of 180°.
2.6. Guard assembly. Remove in this order - lock-nut, stainless steel cover, spacer and drive spacer. Place cover over onto the shaft and tighten with the allen bolts provided.
2.7. Grass trimmer assembly. (Bump trimmer head). The cord cutter blade should have sharp cutting edge facing in direction shown in image below. If the blade is not mounted correctly it will not cut the cord at the correct length. Place the drive spacer over the threaded drive. Then attach the trimmer head onto the threaded drive – tighten in an anti-clockwise direction.
2.8. Cutting blade assembly. (Instruction to suit either 3 or 5 bladed cutter). Place the drive spacer over the threaded drive – N.B. Raised area to be toward the thread Place the over the threaded drive, then place spacer over threaded drive– N.B. Raised area to be toward the thread. N.B. There should be now writing showing.
Once blade is assembled place stainless steel cover over spacer, put lock-nut onto threaded shaft and loosely tighten (anti-clockwise direction). Use the box spanner to over the lock-nut and tighten – use the Allen key to lock the shaft. 2.9. Pole chainsaw assembly. Put on a pair of safety gloves and lay out on a firm work surface all of the chainsaw parts. Remove cover by undoing the cover release knob.
Put the chain on the chain bar and make sure it corresponds with the direction indicated by the arrows as shown in image below. With the chain wrapped around the bar wrap the chain around the sprocket then align the tensioning hole with the tensioning screw on the cover.
Replace the cover making sure that it is correctly aligned, you may have to move the chain tensioner to allow the cover to align. Once the cover is secured into place adjust the chain tension so that has maximum of 5mm drop when pulled away from the bar. Cover release nut 2.10. Chain tensioner Fitting/replacing spool line.
Insert the nylon trimmer cord straight through the trimmer head until it exits through the opposite hole and pull through until each side has equal lengths of trimmer line. Twist the centre knob clockwise to wind in the trimmer line to the desired length. You must ensure that the cord faces the right direction as per the image below. You must also ensure that the trimmer line is straight when feeding through the trimmer head.
2.11. Trimmer blade assembly. Place the two bolts through the guard from the top. On the underside of guard place the cutter over the bolts and secure in places using the 2 nuts. Tighten by using Allen key and spanner.
2.12. Face mask assembly. Rotate to align the tags on the helmet to match the holes on the top of the visor. Place the visor over the tags, then rotate the tags 180° to secure into place. Place the ear defenders over the outside of the headband on the helmet and place into the clips. 2.13. Mixing two stroke oil. Fill the mixing bottle with fresh unleaded petrol to the fuel marker line use a 40:1 ratio. Then top up with 2 stroke oil to 40:1 ratio line shake until fuel/oil has mixed.
2.14. Adding fuel. Unscrew the fuel tank cap and carefully add a 2-stroke fuel/oil mixture as in section 2.12. DO NOT overfill and allow a 25 mm gap at the top of the tank. Once full replace and correctly tighten the fuel cap. Fuel tank capacity is800ml DO NOT use straight unleaded petrol. 2.15. Adding/checking chain oil. To fill with chain oil place unit on its side, undo chainsaw oil tank cap, fill with chain oil to prescribed level. Chain oil tank capacity is 180ml.
2.15.1. The guide bar and saw chain are lubricated automatically by a pump that operates whenever the chain rotates. The pump is factory set to deliver a minimum flow. It can be adjusted in the field which might be desirable when cutting hard woods. 2.16. Checking/adjusting chain oil supply. Only use chain oil. After starting the engine, run the chain at medium speed and see if chain oil is scattered off as shown in the figure.
3. STARTING PROCEDURE Fill with fuel/oil mixture, make sure the fuel cap is secure. Move the power switch to the ON position.
Pump the primer bulb 8/10 times until fuel shows in the bulb. For COLD start set the choke lever to the ON position by moving upwards as shown. For a WARM start keep the choke lever at the OFF position.
Place on hand on the machine, and using the other hand pull the recoil until you feel a resistance, then pull briskly. Repeat until machine starts. When the machine starts move the choke to the OFF position. DO NOT let go of the recoil handle instead allow the recoil cord and handle return slowly. Once the engine has started press the throttle lever and throttle safety together. This will accelerate the machine to cutting speed.
4. STOPPING PROCEDURE 4.1. Before stopping the machine allow the engine to cool down for a few minutes, by allowing it to run without throttle. 4.2. You MUST allow the cutting head to come to a full stop before carrying out any maintenance on the machine. To STOP the machine release the throttle lever and move the power switch to the OFF position. If not already in OFF position move the choke to OFF position.
5. USING THE MACHINE 5.1. Before starting work. b. 5.1.1. YOU MUST check the work area for obstacles such as stones, metal rods or other objects. If these cannot be removed, mark these positions, so you can avoid contact with the blade and objects. Overhead power lines can be caught on the blade head if machine is swirled in the air. 5.2. c. 1 = Protector Shield and machine hook. Accessories. 5.2.1. Make sure that your product is only equipped with original accessories.
If you are not familiar with the trimming, practice with the machine with the machine stopped. 5.4.1. Always trim or cut with the engine running at high speed. 5.4.2. Do not run the machine slowly except for when warming up before use or cooling down after use. 5.4.3. Swing the nylon cutting head of the trimmer horizontally from left to right. 5.4.10. When trimming around trees trim slowly making sure that the nylon cord does not come into contact with the trunk.
operator. Pinching the saw chain along the top of the guide bar may push the guide bar rapidly back towards the operator. Either of these reactions may cause you to lose control of the saw, which could result in serious personal injury. 5.5.1. NEVER operate the Pole chainsaw/Hedge trimmer at an angle greater than 60°, this will reduce the risk of being struck by falling objects during operation.
Make sure the chain and sprocket are correctly adjusted before operating the Pole chainsaw. Never attempt chain adjustment with the engine running! Always make sure the cutting attachments are properly installed and firmly tightened before operation. Never use a cracked or warped guide bar, replace it with a serviceable one and make sure it fits properly. If a saw blade should bind fast in a cut shut off the engine immediately. Push the branch or tree to ease the bind and free the blade.
6. MAINTENANCE Always refuel in a well-ventilated area with the engine off. Whilst carrying out maintenance you must wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when using this machine. Suggested PPE Sturdy footwear, work gloves (especially when working near blade), long trousers and hearing protection. System/ Component Procedure Each use Fuel/oil leaks Check and repair as required. ○ Spillages. Clear up all split fuel/oils. ○ Fuel tank, air filter. Replace as required. Inspect/clean.
Never touch the rotating nylon cord or blade. Always stop the engine and unplug the spark plug before doing any repairs or maintenance. Check and maintain fuel level regularly, and maintain the fuel/oil mix to the correct ratio. Frequently check the brush cutter and make sure that all grass deposits are removed from the trimmer head and/or blade Check the blade, in order to obtain a good cut, the blade should always be sharp and well balanced.
6.2. Spark plug. The spark plug MUST be fully tightened otherwise the engine will overheat causing damage. Always complete the following steps after the engine has been turned off and allowed to cool down. 6.2.1. To make sure the engine runs correctly a spark plug gap of 0.6 -0.7 mm must be maintained and the spark plug must be free of carbon deposits. 6.2.2. Undo retaining screw and lift spark plug cover clear. 6.2.3. Disconnect the spark plug cap (3) carefully.
6.3. Trimmer blade sharpening. When sharpening the blade you MUST wear safety gloves. 6.3.1. Remove the cutting blade (2) from the shield (1). 6.3.2. Put cutting blade securely into a vice. 6.3.3. Sharpen the blade with a suitable flat file. 6.3.4. Please make sure that you maintain the angle of cutting. Maintain the original cutting angle. 6.4. 6.4.1. 6.4.2. Hedge trimmer greasing. Check the grease every 25 hours ofuse. Use lithium based grease – 20ml.
6.5. 6.5.1. 6.5.2. Bevel gear. (See section 9 forlocation). Use a high temperature gear grease, amount required to fill bevel gear is 25ml. Top up with grease every 25 hours 6.6. 6.6.1. Oiling port & Guidebar. Dismount the guide bar and check the oiling port for clogging. 6.6.2. 6.6.3. Remove excess sawdust from the guide bar groove. Grease the nose sprocket at the grease point.
6.7. Storage. If you do not follow these steps, deposit may arise in the carburetor. This will cause starting difficulties and may cause permanent damage. 6.7.1. Perform all the general maintenance that the maintenance section of your ‘User Manual’ is recommended. 6.7.2. Clean the outside of the machine, shields, nylon cutting head, brush cutter, hedge trimmer and chainsaw. 6.7.3. Remove all fuel from the fuel tank. 6.7.4. After all the fuel is drained, start theengine. 6.7.5.
7. TROUBLESHOOTING. Possible corrective actions; 1. Check or exchange. MOTOR DOES NOT COME UP TO SPEED 7.1. If troubleshooting does not solve the problem, contact your dealer or the manufacturer directly. Use only original parts approved by the manufacturer, otherwise a hazard risk arises. Possible causes; 1. Choke is in "cold start" position, exhaust system does not clog air supply, worn Movable elements, spark weak, valve clearance to big, sooty cylinder head. NO SPARK.
