2 Remove Old Thermostat Remove old thermostat but leave wallplate with wires attached. If you have an older thermostat with a sealed mercury tube, turn to page 2 for proper disposal instructions. Do not remove wallplate yet Terminal designation C C MCR33823 3 Label Wires with Tags Label the wires using the supplied wire labels as you disconnect them. Wire Labels C C Terminal designation M28100 4 Separate Wallplate from New Thermostat Remove wallplate from the new thermostat and mount onto wall.
Mount Wallplate Mount the new wallplate using the included screws and anchors. W/ Aux Not Used M32714 Drill 3/16-in. holes for drywall Drill 3/32-in. holes for plaster 6 Connect Wires Simply match wire labels. If labels do not match letters on the thermostat, check “Alternate Wiring (Conventional Systems)” on page 6 and connect to terminal as shown (see notes, below).

Do not use C or X. Wrap bare end of wire with electrical tape. If you have a heat pump without auxiliary/backup heat connect O or B, not both. If you do not have a heat pump, do not connect B.

If your old thermostat had both V and VR wires, stop now and contact a qualified contractor for help.
Set fan operation switch Move the switch to the proper setting: RTHXXXX Gas or Oil: For gas or oil heating systems, leave the fan operation switch in this factory-set position (for systems that control the fan in a call for heat). GAS OR OIL ELECTRIC OR HEAT PUMP Electric or Heat Pump: Change the switch to this setting for heat pump or electric heat systems. (This setting is for systems that allow the thermostat to control the fan in a call for heat, if a fan wire is connected to the G terminal.
11 If your system type is... If your system type is: q Single Stage Heat and Cool q Heat Only or Cool Only Congratulations, you’re done! If your system type is: q Heat Pump* with Backup Heat Continue with Advanced Installation to match your thermostat to your system type. *Heat Pump—an air conditioner that provides cooling in the summer, and also runs in reverse in the winter to provide heating. If you are not sure of your system type or if you have other questions, call us toll-free at 1-800-468-1502.
NOTE: If you do not press any button for 60 seconds while you are in the setup menu, the thermostat automatically saves any changes made and exits the menu. Function Description Press the s or t button to 1 select system type 0 Heating & cooling: Gas, oil or electric heating with central air conditioning or heat pump without auxiliary/back-up heat. 1 Heat pump with auxiliary/backup heat: Outside compressor provides both heating and cooling.
Thermostat controls Set: Press to set time/day/schedule. Temperature adjustment Press the up or down buttons until you reach the desired temperature. Hold: Press to override programmed temperature control. Run: Press to resume program schedule. Fan Auto On Heat Off Cool M32700 System Switch is used to control your heating or cooling system. • Heat: Heating system control. • Off: All systems off. • Cool: Cooling system control.
Set the time and day 1. Press the SET button, then press s or t to set the clock time. 2. Press the SET button, then press s or t to select the day of the week. 3. Press RUN to save & exit. Set Time 6:30 am M32702 NOTE: If the clock flashes, the thermostat will follow your settings for the Monday “Wake” time period until you reset the time and day. Set Day We M32703 Program Schedule You can program four time periods each day, with different settings for weekdays and weekends.
To adjust program schedules (RTHL2510) 1. Press SET until Set Schedule is displayed. 2. Press s or t to set your Wake time for the day displayed, then press SET. 3. Press s or t to set the temperature for this time period, then press SET. 4. Set time and temperature for the next time period (Leave). Repeat steps 2 and 3 for each day’s time period. 5. Press RUN to save & exit. NOTE: Make sure the thermostat is set to the system you want to program (Heat or Cool).
Program schedule override (temporary) Press s or t to immediately adjust the temperature. This will temporarily override the temperature setting for the current time period. 6:30 Temporary am Wake 70 Set “Temporary” will appear on the display and the current program period will flash. M32708 The new temperature will be maintained only until the next programmed time period begins (see page 12). 6:30 am 75 Set To cancel the temporary setting at any time, press RUN.
Built-in compressor protection This feature helps prevent damage to the compressor in your air conditioning or heat pump system. Damage can occur if the compressor is restarted too soon after shutdown. This feature forces the compressor to wait 5 minutes before restarting. 6:30 am We 75 Cool On Wake During the wait time, the display will flash the message Cool On (or Heat On if you have a heat pump). When the safe wait time has elapsed, the message stops flashing and the compressor turns on.
Battery replacement Install two fresh AAA batteries when Lo Batt flashes on the screen. Lo Batt appears for 60 days before the batteries are depleted. Pull at bottom to remove thermostat from wallplate. Replace batteries once a year, or when you will be away for more than a month. W/ Aux Not Used Most settings are stored in non-volatile (permanent) memory. Only the clock and the day must be set after you replace the batteries. Set the System switch to Off before removing the batteries.
Troubleshooting If you have difficulty with your thermostat, please try the following suggestions. Most problems can be corrected quickly and easily. Display is blank • • • • Check circuit breaker and reset if necessary. Make sure power switch at heating & cooling system is on. Make sure furnace door is closed securely. Make sure fresh AAA alkaline batteries are correctly installed. Heating or cooling system does not respond • Set system switch to Heat.
1-year limited warranty Honeywell warrants this product, excluding battery, to be free from defects in the workmanship or materials, under normal use and service, for a period of one (1) year from the date of purchase by the consumer. If at any time during the warranty period the product is determined to be defective or malfunctions, Honeywell shall repair or replace it (at Honeywell’s option).

2 Retirer l’ancien thermostat Retirer l’ancien thermostat, mais laisser en place la plaque murale et les fils sans les détacher. Si vous possédez un thermostat plus ancien à tube Laisser la plaque de mercure scellé, allez à la page 2 pour les de montage en instructions de mise au rebut correctes. place Désignation de la borne C C 3 Étiqueter les fils MCR33823 Étiqueter les fils à l’aide des étiquettes fournies à mesure que les fils sont débranchés.
5 Installer la plaque Installer la nouvelle plaque murale à l’aide des vis et des chevilles d’ancrage fournies. W/ Aux Not Used M32714 Percer des trous de 3/16 po si le mur est en placoplâtre Percer des trous de 3/32 po si le mur est en plâtre 6 Raccorder les fils Il suffit ensuite de faire correspondre les fils avec les étiquettes. Si les étiquettes ne correspondent pas aux lettres du thermostat, consulter “Autre option de câblage (Système conventionnel)” au page 6 (voir les notes dessous).

8 Réglages du ventilateur Placer le sélecteur à la position qui correspond au système : Gas or Oil : S’il s’agit d’un système de chauffage au gaz ou au mazout, laisser le sélecteur à la position réglée en usine (pour les systèmes qui commandent la mise en marche du ventilateur lors d’une demande de chaleur). Electric or Heat Pump : Déplacer le commutateur à cette position si le système est une thermopompe ou un appareil de chauffage électrique.
11 Si votre système est du type suivant... Si votre système est du type suivant: q Chauffage et refroidissement à un étage q Chauffage uniquement ou refroidissement uniquement Félicitations, vous avez terminé Si votre système est du type suivant: q Thermopompe* avec chauffage de secours Passer au mode d’installation avancé pour faire correspondre le thermostat à votre type de système.
REMARQUE : Si aucun bouton n’est touché pendant 60 secondes dans le menu de configuration, le thermostat enregistre automatiquement toute modification effectuée et quitte le menu. Fonction Description Appuyer sur les touches s ou t pour Réglage 1 sélectionnez le type de système 0 Chauffage et refroidissement : Chauffage à gaz, mazout ou électrique avec climatisation centrale ou thermopompe sans chauffage auxiliaire/de secours.
Commandes de thermostat Set : Appuyer sur cette touche pour régler l’heure/le jour/l’horaire. Réglage de la température Appuyer sur les touches haut ou bas jusqu’à l’obtention de la température désirée. Hold : Appuyer sur cette touche pour déroger au programme. Run : Appuyer sur cette touche pour revenir au programme. Heat Off Cool Fan Auto On M32700 La commande SYSTEM (système) est utilisée pour commander le système de chauffage ou de refroidissement. • Heat : Commande le système de chauffage.
Régler et l’heure et le jour 1. Appuyer sur le bouton SET, puis sur s ou t pour régler l’heure. 2. Appuyer sur le bouton SET, puis sur s ou t pour choisir le jour de la semaine. 3. Appuyer sur RUN pour enregistrer les réglages et quitter. Set Time 6:30 am M32702 REMARQUE : Si l’horloge clignote, le thermostat respecte la consigne prévue pour la période de réveil (Wake) du lundi jusqu’à ce que le jour et l’heure soient réglés.
Réglage de l’horaire (RTHL2510) 1. Appuyer sur SET jusqu’à ce que « Set Schedule » (régler le programme) apparaît à l’écran. 2. Appuyer sur s ou t pour régler Set l’heure de réveil pour le jour affiché puis appuyer sur SET. Mo Wake 3. Appuyer sur s ou t pour régler la Set Schedule température pour cette période puis appuyer sur SET. 4. Régler la température et l’heure de la période suivante (Leave, ou départ). Répéter les étapes 2 et 3 pour chaque période des jours de la semaine. 5.
Dérogation (temporaire) au programme Appuyer sur s ou t pour ajuster immédiatement la température. Cette fonction permet de déroger à la température de consigne de la période en cours. 6:30 Temporary am Wake 70 Set M32708 Le terme « Temporary » (Provisoire) s’affiche et la période courante clignote. 6:30 La nouvelle température de consigne restera en vigueur jusqu’au début de la prochaine période seulement (voir page 12).
Protection intégrée du compresseur Cette fonction sert à éviter d’endommager le compresseur qui fait partie du système de refroidissement ou de la thermopompe. 6:30 Le compresseur pourrait en effet être endommagé s’il redémarre trop rapidement après avoir été mis à l’arrêt. Cette fonction oblige le compresseur à attendre 5 minutes avant de redémarrer. am We 75 Cool On Wake M32711 Pendant cette attente, les mots «Cool On» (ou«Heat On» si le système utilisé est une thermopompe) clignotent à l’écran.
Remplacement des piles Mettre deux piles AAA neuves lorsque Lo Batt (Piles faibles) clignote à l’écran. Lo Batt (Piles faibles) s’affiche pendant 60 jours avant que les piles ne soient complètement déchargées. Tirer le thermostat par le bas pour le détacher de la plaque murale. Remplacer les piles une fois par an ou avant de quitter la maison pour une période de plus d’un mois. La plupart des réglages sont sauvegardés dans la mémoire non volatile (permanente).
Dépannage En cas de difficultés avec le thermostat, essayer les suggestions suivantes. La plupart des problèmes peuvent être réglés rapidement et facilement. Rien n’apparaît à l’écran • • • • Le système de chauffage ou de refroidissement ne répond pas • • • Vérifiez le disjoncteur et réinitialisez-le si nécessaire. Assurez-vous que l’interrupteur de marche-arrêt du système de chauffage et de refroidissement est sur marche. Assurez-vous que la porte de l’appareil de chauffage est bien fermée.
Garantie limitée d’un an Honeywell garantit ce produit, à l’exception des piles, contre tout défaut de pièce ou de main-d’œuvre, durant une période d’un (1) an à partir de la date d’achat par le consommateur si le produit est utilisé et entretenu convenablement. En cas de défectuosité ou de mauvais fonctionnement pendant la période de garantie, Honeywell remplacera ou réparera le produit, à sa discrétion.
