KTCPI001 Visual Position Indicator
for V4295A and V4297A Valves
APPLICATION
The KTCPI001 Visual Position Indicator is used only with
Honeywell V4295A 1 in. (25 mm) to 2 in. (51 mm) valves,
5 psi versions and Honeywell V4297A Valves to indicate
the open and closed position of the valve.
SPECIFICATIONS
Models: KTCPI001.
Ambient Temperature Range: -40
°F to +130°F
(-40
°C to +50°C).
Enclosure Rating: NEMA 4.
Approvals:
Factory Mutual (FM) requires the use of the KTCPI001
Visual Position Indicator for the following valves:
V4295A 5-psi series from 1 in. (25 mm) to 2 in.
(51 mm).
V4297A Valve when used with pipe adapters larger
than 3/4 in. (19 mm).
The KTCPI001 Indicator also meets the requirements of
application codes (such as NFPA) that require visual
indication of the valve position.
INSTALLATION
When Installing This Product...
1. Read these instructions carefully. Failure to follow
the instructions could damage the product or cause
a hazardous condition.
2. Check the ratings given in the instructions and on
the product to make sure the product is suitable for
your application.
3. Installer must be a trained, experienced flame
safeguard technician.
4. After installation is complete, check out product
operation as provided in these instructions.
WARNING
Fire or Explosion Hazard.
Can cause property damage, serious injury,
or death.
Perform the gas safety shutdown test any time
work is done on a gas system.
Make sure gas is turned off before starting
installation.
1. Use a 1/4 in. (6mm) hex wrench to remove the plug
and O-ring from the top of the valve.
2. Insert the KTCPI001 Indicator and O-ring in place
of the plug.
3. Tighten the indicator, using a 3/4 in. (19 mm) open
end or box end wrench, until metal-to-metal contact
is established between the indicator body and the
top of the valve.
IMPORTANT
Use the wrench on the metal portion of the indi-
cator, not on the clear plastic top.
