SAFETY INFORMATION Please read and understand this entire manual before attempting to assemble, operate, or install the product. • Before you begin installing the fan, disconnect the power by removing fuses or turning off the circuit breakers. • Make sure that all electrical connections comply with local codes, ordinances, the National Electrical Code, and ANSI/NFPA 70-199. Hire a qualified electrician or consult a do-it-yourself wiring handbook if you are unfamiliar with installing electrical wiring.
MOUNTING BRACKET INSTALLATION 1. Turn off the circuit breakers and the wall switch to the fan supply line lead (Fig. 1). Fig. 1 ! DANGER: Failure to disconnect the power supply prior to installation may result in serious injury or death. 2. Ensure that the blades will be at least 30 in. (76 cm) from any obstruction and at least 7 ft. (2,13 m) above the floor (Fig. 2). Fig. 2 30" Min 7' Min 3.
HANGING YOUR FAN 4. Remove the four bracket screws from underneath the lower mounting bracket and save for later use (Fig. 4). Bracket Screw Fig. 4 Washer Bracket Screw and Washer 5. Place tab on the lower mounting bracket into slot in the upper mounting bracket. Then slide the second lower mounting bracket tab into the second slot on the upper mounting bracket until all four screw holes are in alignment (Fig. 5). Fig. 5 6.

MOTOR HOUSING INSTALLATION 9. Remove the ten motor screws from the underside of the motor. Set aside for blade arm assembly (Fig. 9). Fig. 9 Motor Screw Motor Screw 10. Temporarily lift the motor housing to the mounting bracket to determine which two motor housing screws in the sides of the mounting bracket align with the slotted holes in the top edge of the motor housing. Partially loosen the two motor housing mounting screws that align with the slotted holes.
BLADE INSTALLATION 12. The blades attach to blade arms using the Fast AttachTM system. Fig. 12 Align each twist lock connector in the direction of its corresponding hole in the blade. Place the blade over the twist lock connectors. Rotate each twist lock connector so that it is perpendicular to the hole in the blade. Repeat for the remaining blades (Fig. 12). LIGHT KIT INSTALLATION 14. Remove the three screws and washers from the upper switch housing. Align holes in the optional cap with holes in upper switch housing. Re-install screws and washers that were previously removed. Use a Phillips screwdriver (not included) to secure all screws (Fig. 15). Screw Fig. 14 Washer Optional Cap 15. LIGHT KIT INSTALLATION 16. Align holes in the light kit with holes in upper switch housing. Reinstall the three screws and washers that were previously removed. Use a Phillips screwdriver (not included) to secure all screws (Fig. 16). Screw Fig. 16 Washer Screw and Washer 17. Remove the socket ring from the socket. FINAL INSTALLATION 19. The pull chain extensions or custom pull chains extensions (sold separately) may be attached to fan and light pull chains (Fig. 19). Fig.
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS 20. Use the fan reverse switch, located on the side of the light kit, to optimize your fan for seasonal performance (Fig. 20). Fig. 20 Using a ceiling fan will allow you to raise your thermostat in the summer and lower your thermostat in the winter without sacrificing comfort. Important: Wait for the fan to stop before moving the reverse switch. The reverse switch must be set either completely left or right in order for the fan to function correctly.

TROUBLESHOOTING At least twice each year, lower the canopy to check the downrod assembly, and then tighten all screws on the fan. Clean the motor housing with only a soft brush or lint-free cloth to avoid scratching the finish. Clean the blades with a lint-free cloth. You may occasionally apply a light coat of furniture polish to wood blades for added protection. Important: Shut off the main power supply before you begin any maintenance tasks. Do not use water or a damp cloth to clean the ceiling fan.
