The HWN500 Data Jack allows you to connect a PC to
your Home Wireless Networks™ integrated
communication system.
By connecting several PCs to the system via Data
Jacks, you can build a local area network (LAN) that
allows you to share data and peripherals between the
networked PCs. If you have an Internet account, you
can also use the network as an Internet gateway to
provide simultaneous Internet access to each PC in the
network.

Getting started
Checking parts
Your HWN500 Data Jack kit should contain the following parts:
Data Jack
6’ Serial Cable (9-pin)
HWN driver diskette
If any parts are missing or broken, call your dealer.
System Requirements
You must have Windows 95, Windows 98, or Windows NT 4.0 or higher
installed on your PC.
The HWN500 network Controller must already be installed before you can
install a Data Jack. For information on installing the Controller, see the
Network Reference Manual that accompanied the Controller.
You must have an available serial port on your PC. Refer to your PC’s user
manual for information on serial ports.
