Tracker-005 User’s Guide 1. Introduction Tracker-005 is a multi-functional tracker. Combining with GPRS and high performance GPS, the device can be used to track and report device’s position and status to MDS. The operation modes include continuous tracking, geophone. SOS buttons can be used to send emergency call. All configurations can be set through SMS or USB interface. The wireless communication includes TCP/IP, HTTP and SMS. With MTK EPO, it can get short TTFF at distressed environment.

Procedure Make sure PIN code is unlocked before inserting the SIM card. GPRS function should be enabled in SIM card. PC Utility: Please install device driver “USBToCOM” before you use TrackerConfig PC utility program. There are three position report operation modes in tracker: ezSpot, ezSpot server or both. In ezSpot mode, user can change settings in and request real-time position from Tracker through mobile phone. For ezSpot server mode, tracker will report position to server through HTTP.

Press “Connect” button. After program connecting to the device, it will show a “Next” button in new Diagnostic page. After pressing “Next” button the “Connect” button name will be changed to “Close”. If SIM card is not detected or is locked, “Ready” will not be shown on message frame. 7.3. Fill Password Field Please fill password first before executing any command. The default password is “12345”.
7.4. Read Device information Check “Read” button will get all information in device.
7.5. Change Password and Reset Password Press “Set” button in password group to change password. Execute “Reset Password” button will reset password to default “12345”. This function can be used when password is forgotten. 7.6. Report Phone Number Setting There are 4 phone numbers that can be set. Device will respond position request if caller phone number is in the list.
7.7. Message Report Target The function can be used to set parameter for report target. Tracker-005 can report position to ezSpot in mobile phone or ezSpot server [ezSpot]: Tracker-005 will send position to ezSpot through SMS. [ezSpot Server]: Tracker-005 will send position to ezSpot server (or MDS) through HTTP. [both]: Tracker-005 will send position to ezSpot through SMS and ezSpot server through HTTP.

1 2. 7.9. Phone Number Setting [Number]: Number (MSISDN) is the phone number of SIM card in Tracker-005.
7.10. Continuous Tracking [Continuous tracking setting] In continuous tracking mode, Tracker-005 will report position to ezSpot server at the preset interval. [Interval (min)]: This is the duration, in minutes, for which continuous tracking needs to be done. The range is from 3 ~ 1440 minutes. If 0 is passed to the continuous tracking, it will disable continuous tracking. User can use combo box to select the interval (See red area #1), and use the “set” button to set the setting to device.
7.12. EPO Setting EPO data can speed up TTFF at weak GPS environment. User can enable or disable this function. Device will update EPO data while EPO period is expired.
7.13. Message Setting User can set 10 set custom phone numbers and 10 set custom message settings. These settings will be stored in Tracker-005. These settings is used for user to select custom message and custom phone number to send out.
8. Basic Operation 8.1. Turn on Tracker Press the power key for more than 3 seconds to turn on the device. Screen will show welcome text. 8.2. Turn off Tracker Press the power key for 3 seconds to turn off the device. 8.3. Position Request Press “Find Now” in menu using ezSpot Enter the correct “Password” and “Tracker Tel. No” for tracker. Press “Find Now”. Java phone Mobile phone will call Tracker-005.
Java phone Mobile phone 8.4. Emergency Report (SOS) Pressing two keys(menu key + enter key) simultaneously for more than 3 seconds will activate SOS mode. Tracker will try to get a fix immediately and send SOS signal. When SOS is activated, main screen will display SOS icon. In SOS mode, every 5 minutes it will execute positioning and reporting until out of battery. When it is executing positioning and reporting, main screen will display SOS flash icon.

Click Unlock to unlock SOS. Click Cancel/Exit if you don’t want to unlock, the SMS screen re-appears.
9. Display Operation flow 9.1. Button functions Introduction: There are 3 keys on the Tracker-005: Power/Back Key, Menu Key and Enter Key. Pressing combinations perform these functions: (1) Tap Power/Back Key (return functions): to return to the last page or the main menu. (2) Press and hold Power/Back Key (on/off): to turn the Tracker on or off. (3) Tap Menu Key (menu and select function): to enter the main menu or select function items.

9.3. Screen Explanation 9.3.1.Welcome Screen Introduction: this menu displays the welcome message. The first row displays the company name; the middle row displays the Tracker's name, and the last row displays the firmware version number. 9.3.2.Main Screen Introduction: this screen displays the current local date and time, GSM signal strength, SIM card exist status, battery level, new message notification and GPS status. The images on the screen are explained below: Represents the signal strength of GSM.
9.3.3.Main Menu Introduction: this screen displays the main menu. It has 3 primary function modules: GPS information, message function and module configuration function. 9.3.10. GPS - Compass (GPS not fixed) (GPS fixed) Introduction: this screen displays the easy compass that displays the current forward direction. The number on the left displays the actual angle and the range of the angle is 0 ~ 359. Note: the direction information is only valid when the device is on moving condition. Button actions: Menu Key: Go back to the previous screen: [altitude and speed information for GPS]. Enter Key: Go to the next screen: [satellite signal strength for GPS].
Introduction: this screen displays the current GPS satellite signal strength C/N value information, currently it displays the satellite ID numbers and values for 5 satellites with the 5 strongest C/N values. The numbers in the bottom row represent the satellite ID numbers for satellites, the bars in the middle row represent the strength of satellite signals and the higher the bar, the stronger the signal.

Setting - Setting Menu Introduction: This screen displays the setting function, currently there are 2 primary functions: time zone and back light. Button actions: Menu Key: Scroll down and select items. Enter Key: Go to selected screen.
Introduction: This screen is used to configure the time for the backlight to be on. Button actions: Menu Key: Change the time for the backlight to be on . Enter Key: Save the configuration for the length of time for the backlight and go to next screen [Set Local Time]. Back Key: Go back to the setting menu. Note: Default back light is 10 sec. 9.3.23.
