Unpacking This microwave oven is designed for home use. It should not be used for commercial catering. Unpacking and getting ready 1 After unpacking your oven, check that it has not been damaged whilst in the box. Make sure there are no dents, that the door closes properly. A dented or damaged oven could allow microwave energy to escape. Make sure that you have taken all the packaging from inside the oven.

Introducing microwave cooking Introducing microwave cooking Always remember the basic safeguards you would follow when using any cooking equipment or handling hot food. This page gives some of the basic guidelines for microwave cooking. If you are unfamiliar with using a microwave, there is more information at the back of this instruction booklet.
Introducing microwave cooking Microwave ovens cook food using microwave energy that is similar to naturally occurring radio waves. Normally, these "waves" would fade as they disappeared into the atmosphere, but in a microwave oven they are concentrated onto food causing it to heat up. Safety Never use equipment made of metal, except foil in your microwave oven. The microwave energy can not pass through the metal so it bounces off and sparks against the inside of the oven.

Remember Always check that the food is evenly cooked and piping hot before you serve it. 700W D 700W is the output power of the oven. D is the heating category for your oven.
Steam When you microwave food, steam is created as water in the food heats up and evaporates. Introducing microwave cooking The steam formed during microwave cooking is entirely safe. It has to escape from the microwave to prevent pressure from building up inside the oven. It does this through the vents on the back of the oven and from around the door.
Introducing microwave cooking Safety For your safety, the microwave stops if the oven door is opened during cooking. Close the door to continue the cooking cycle. Checking your microwave Check your microwave is working after unpacking and whenever you think it might not be working properly. 1 You must always use the turntable and ring whenever you use the microwave. Place a cup of water on the turntable. Make sure the cup is microwave-safe – it should not have any decorative metal trim.
Setting the Child Lock Setting the child lock The child lock is a safety feature which when set will lock all of the buttons on your microwave. This prevents your microwave being used accidentally though your microwave door will still open. 1 Lock: In waiting state, press "Cancel/Stop" for 3 seconds, there will be a long beep 2 Lock quitting: In locked state, press "Cancel/Stop" for 3 seconds, there will be a long "beep" denoting that the lock is released.
Using the microwave Using the microwave Basic microwave cooking and reheating Hint: Starting and stopping cooking 1 It is possible to check cooking progress at any time, by opening the door and inspecting the food. This interrupts the emission of microwave energy and the oven stops working until the door is closed again. 2 Press the "Cancel/Stop" button. Make sure the glass turntable and the turntable ring are inside the oven.
4 Press "Quick Start/Start" to start cooking. Using the microwave Example: If you want to use 80% microwave to cook food for 20 minutes, you can operate the oven as the following steps. 1) Press "Micro./Grill/Combi.", the screen display "P100". 2) Turn "Timer/Power/Weight" to adjust 80% microwave power until the oven displays "P 80". 3) Press "Micro./Grill/Combi." to confirm, the screen displays "P 80". 4) Turn "Timer/Power/Weight" to adjust the cooking time until the oven displays "20:00".
Microwave cooking Quick start cooking This function is useful when heating small amounts of food or drink, or for adding an extra one minute when cooking time has already elapsed. Hint The quick start feature allows you to set one minute intervals of HIGH power cooking with the touch of the "Quick Start/ Start" button. 1 Put the turntable ring inside the oven and place the glass turntable on top of the ring. The turntable is shaped to sit securely on the spindle.
Auto Menu Microwave cooking Example: If you want to use "Auto Menu" to cook fish of 250g. 1 2 3 4 5 Press "Auto Menu" , " " and " " will light. Turn "Timer/Power/Weight" to select the function you want. Press "Auto Menu" button to confirm. Turn "Timer/Power/Weight" to select the weight of fish. "g" will light. Press "Quick Start/Start" to start. "g" will go out, " " and " " will flash.

Setting the clock Microwave cooking When the microwave oven is electrified, the oven will display "0:00", buzzer will ring once. 1 Press "Clock/Pre-Set", the hour figures will flash, and the indicator for clock " 2 Turn "Timer/Power/Weight" to adjust the hour figures, the input time should be " will light. within 0--23. 3 Press "Clock/Pre-Set", the minute figures will flash. 4 Turn "Timer/Power/Weight" to adjust the minute figures, the input time should be within 0--59.

Defrost should always be set as the first stage, if it is included in the multi-level program. Please do not press "Quick Start/Start" to start cooking at the last step. Press "Clock/Pre-Set", the hour figures will flash, and the indicator " " will light.
Multi-section cooking Microwave cooking At most 3 sections can be input for cooking. In multi-section cooking, if one section is defrosting, then defrosting shall be placed in the first section. Example: If you want to use "20 minutes of 100% microwave power + 5 minutes of 80% microwave power " to cook food. 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 Press "Micro./Grill/Combi." pad , the screen display "P100". Press "Micro./Grill/Combi." to select 100% microwave power. Turn "Timer/Power/Weight" to select cooking time.
Microwave cooking Inquiring Function In microwave, grill or combination cooking state, press "Micro./Grill/Combi.", the current power will be displayed for 4 seconds. After 4 seconds, the oven will turn back to the former state; In cooking state, press "Clock/Pre-Set" to inquire the present time and the time will flash for 4 seconds. In preset state, press "Clock/Pre-Set" to inquire the preset time and it will flash for 4 seconds.
Defrosting Defrosting Defrost by weight 1 Hint Make sure the glass turntable, turntable ring and defrost rack are inside the oven. You may wish to place the frozen food onto a plate or dish before placing it onto the defrost rack. Cleaning your microwave Cleaning Cleaning your oven each time you use it will help to prevent stubborn marks that can be difficult to clean. The oven walls have a special enamel coating which makes cleaning very easy. Use a soft damp cloth to wipe off any splashes or a paper towel to mop up any spills. Wipe off grease with a damp cloth and a little detergent. Dry thoroughly. As with any oven, if grease is left to accumulate, it can smoke and even catch fire.
Using aluminium foil Using aluminium foil in your microwave It is safe to use aluminium foil in your microwave oven as long as you follow these safety guidelines. As with all metal, microwave energy can not pass through foil, but provided that you keep the foil away from the side of the oven it will not cause sparks and there will not be any damage to your oven.
Questions and answers Q A Why does not food seem to cook? Check that: • the cooking time has been set Q A • the door is closed • the power socket is not overloaded causing a fuse to blow. Q A Why does the food seem undercooked or overcooked? Check that: • the correct cooking time has been set • the correct power setting has been used. Q A Q A How can I stop eggs from popping? When you bake or poach eggs in the microwave, the yolk can sometimes pop as steam builds up inside it.

No. The door has a special metal screen with holes in that lets you see inside but stops microwave energy from getting out. Steam comes out of the side of the door and vents. Can microwave energy get out too? No. The door and vents are carefully designed to let steam out during cooking but keep microwave energy in. The gaps are not big enough for microwave energy to escape.

HIT BG17SS Installation Instructions Please read these instructions carefully before installing Please Note Electrical connection The oven is fitted with a plug and must be only connected to a properly installed earthed socket. In accordance with the appropriate regulations, the socket must only be installed and the connecting cable must only be replaced by a qualified electrician. It is recommended that the plug be accessible after installation.
A. Built-in furniture 1. The built-in cabinet shall not have a rear wall behind the appliance. Minimum installation height is 850mm. Do not cover ventilation slots and air intake points. 2.
B. Install the Oven 1. Fix SCREW A on the UPPER AIR TUNNEL of the oven, and then install the oven into the cabinet. z Adjust the height of SCREW A to make 1mm gap between SCREW A and the top of the cabinet. z Do not trap or kink the power cord. z Make sure that the oven is installed in the centre of the cabinet. 2. Open the oven door. Insert SCREW C into the INSTALLATION HOLE and attach the TRIM KIT to the bracket. Then fix the TRIM-KIT PLASTIC COVER to the INSTALLATION HOLE.
