2. Introduction The DataTag uses active RFID(Radio Frequency Identification) wireless monitoring technology and includes a transmitter/receiver unit, read/write capability, real-time clock, memory and sensing circuitry to detect any attempt at tampering with the tag. It uses two RF channels (L.F, H.F) for communication: In low-frequency short-range mode (125 KHz) the DataTag logs and communicates data through a handheld terminal /microreader.
