CN200 Quickstart
This guide explains how to install and start the CN200. For detailed configuration and operating information download the CN200
Administrator’s Guide from the Colubris Networks web site atd: register.colubris.com
Anatomy
Installation
Important: Installation must be performed by a professional installer familiar
with local regulations governing wireless devices.
Important: Shielded Ethernet cables must be used for all connections.
Important: Do not connect the LAN or Internet port directly to a metropolitan
area network (MAN) or wide area network (WAN).
Important: CH 36, 40, 44, 48 for Indoor use only (5.15-5.25GHz)
When mounting the CN200 on a wall, ceiling or other surface, make sure
that:
the surface you attach the CN200 to and the fasteners you use are
able to support at least 5.1 kg (11.25 pounds)
cable pull (accidental or otherwise), must not make the unit exceed
the 5.1 kg (11.25 pound) limit
Plenum installations
Plenum rated cables and attachment hardware must be used if the CN200
is installed in a plenum. Since the CN200 power adapter (optional) is not
rated for plenum installations, only the CN200 and appropriate cabling
can be located in the plenum.
Note: Colubris Networks supplied PoE injectors (available separately)
cannot be installed inside the plenum.
Configuration
To configure the CN200, you use the Web-based management tool built
into the CN200. You access this tool by establishing a Web browser
connection to the CN200. You must use a JavaScript-enabled Web
browser (Netscape 7.1 or higher, or Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0 or
higher with all applicable updates), to do this.
1 Connect two antennas.
Use the following antennas (sold separately):
Both the Main and Aux antennas are used to transmit and receive. If a
single antenna is used, it can be attached to either connector,
although it is recommended that the Main connector be used.
The connectors are reverse-polarity SMA male jacks. This means
antennas or cable connectors must be SMA female connectors with
reverse polarity. Antennas should be 2 dBi or less and can be either
directly attached or attached via a coax cable.

An important note about wireless security
For easy access to the management interface via a wireless connection, the CN200 ships with all wireless security options disabled. Once the unit
is installed, it is strongly recommended that you enable a wireless security option to properly safeguard the wireless network from intruders. See the
CN200 Administrator's Guide for more information.
