How to use the fire glass Rinse of the glass to remove unwanted dust from manufacturing and allows a few hours to dry. For fire pit applications, we recommend an inch of sand or pea gravel at the bottom of the fire pit for a sturdy foundation. Take the fire glass and pour the fire glass over the burner. For optimal results, pour a minimum of 2-inches over your burner, which allows the gas to filter evenly through the fire glass - creating a beautiful flame.
