This simulator mirrors the structure and functionality of the actual DCS. All DCS upgrades
are done concurrently on the simulator so there is exactly the same operating environment
as the DCS and no version mismatch.
Historical operation data can be read into the simulation system. By replaying the
production process history, plant engineers can expedite root cause analysis. Simulation
can be used to conduct accident avoidance drills to improve the operating capability.
