The lantern can be operated with 3 or 6 D-cell batteries. Batteries must be installed or
replaced in sets of three. NOTE: If replacing the batteries, remove the old batteries and
follow the instructions below.

using the latching handle:
1. To open the handle, depress the raised
button near the bottom of the handle.
See illustration 1.
2. Fully open the handle.
3. Close handle around object you wish the
lantern to hang from. See illustration 2.
4. Open the raised button. Be sure the
handle is securely latched before allowing
lantern to fully hang on its own.
See illustration 3.
Do not attempt to hang lantern with
handle in open position.
Always be sure to hang the lantern in a
safe and secure area.
Lantern should never be left out in
excessive wind.
1. Turn the lantern over and remove
the battery cover by twisting the cap
counter clockwise. The battery sets are
marked by white and green stickers.
2. If you want to run the lantern from
3 D cells, fill either the white or the
green positions noting proper battery
polarity.
3. If you want to run the lantern from
6 D cells, fill both the white and green
positions noting proper battery polarity.
4. Replace the battery cover and
twist clockwise to close.
