INSTRUCTION TO THE USER This equipment has been tested and found to comply with the limits for a class B digital device, pursuant to part 15 of the FCC rules. 1 SmartKey2 Overview The Gatekeeper Systems SmartKey2 combines the functions of the "SmartKey" and CartKey2 with the ability to pair wheels 1.1 SmartKey2 Diagram The SmartKey2 uses the same enclosure and battery as the Smart Key.
2 Lock and Unlock The SmartKey2 will lock or unlock any (GS2, Black Dot, Red Dot, Grey Dot, Green Dot) Gatekeeper Systems wheel. When the Unlock button is pressed, the appropriate command is first sent out on 8KHz (with approximately 3 feet / 1 meter range) and then sent out on 2.4GHz (with approximately 12 feet / 4 meter range). When the Lock button is pressed, only 8HKz command will be sent out (with approximately 3 feet / 1 meter range). All wheels within the appropriate range will lock or unlock.
4 Pairing Wheels The SmartKey2 can pair one Grey Dot and one Green Dot wheel. To pair one Grey Dot and one Green Dot wheel: 1. Place the Grey Wheel and the Green wheel to be paired within 3 feet / 1 meter of the SmartKey2. (wheels may be on a shopping cart). 2. Make sure there are no other Red Dot / Grey Dot / Green Dot wheels within 30 feet / 10 meters of the SmartKey2. 3. Press the pair button once. The SmartKey2 will display dashes as it is performing the pairing operation.
5.3 Signal Analysis Mode Codes The SmartKey2 will d isplay various codes to indicate the different codes used for 8KHz.
