Introduction and General Information
Congratulations, and thank you for
choosing FreeLinc products to enhance
your two-way radio communications.
Each FreeLinc Adapter is compatible with
other FreeLinc wireless communication
accessories that use cutting-edge Near
Field Magnetic Induction communication
(NFMI) wireless technology. NFMI supports
mobility, freedom-of-motion, exceptional
battery life, audio integrity, ease-of-use,
durability, secure communications and
comfort. This is the rst technology of its
kind to be implemented into practical voice
and audio solutions for two-way radios.

General Operation
Using Your FreeLinc Wireless Accessory for
the First Time
Step One: Attach Adapter
Attach your FreeLinc FA3 Adapter to the
accessory interface of your portable radio
(see your portable radio’s user manual if
you need assistance locating the accessory
interface). Use the thumb screw to secure
the adapter to your radio (see diagram).
When properly attached, the spring-loaded
pins should align with the contacts on the
accessory interface of your portable radio
and the adapter should t securely.
Note: Do not overtighten the thumb screw.
Adapter Indicator Light
The indicator light on your FreeLinc FA3
Adapter indicates wireless communication
status as follows:
BEHAVIOR INDICATION
Green Flashing Link Active
Red Flashing Seek Mode
Orange Flashing Vox Mode
Not Illuminated Sleep Mode

General Operation
Step Two: Turn On Adapter
Turn on your portable radio and set the
toggle switch to “ON (see diagram).
This will automatically silence the speaker
on your portable radio and route all of your
communications to the FreeLinc wireless
accessory.
Note: For information on how to operate
this product with a FreeLinc accessory,
please refer to your user manual that came
with the accessory.

Caution: To reduce the risk of re or injury

Do not use liquid cleaners or aerosol
cleaners as they may damage the adapter
or nish of the adapter. Use a dry cloth to
clean the external portions of the adapter.
Do not stick anything inside the product as
this may damage internal components. This
