R717V Mobile Hotspot User Guide

Get Started The following topics give you all the information you need to set up your device and wireless service the first time. Battery cover Remove the battery cover to remove or insert the battery or SIM card. Settings Reset button Press to reset your device to its default settings. Remember to power off your device before inserting or removing a SIM card. Note: Your device's SIM card is preinstalled. These instructions are for reference only. 1. Press and hold the Power key to turn off the device before inserting or removing the SIM card. 2.
3. Open the SIM card cover. 4. Insert the SIM card gently with gold IC chip facing downward 5. Remove the SIM card by gently pressing down and sliding outwards. 6. Close the SIM card cover.
. Insert the Battery. § Align the contacts of the battery with the contacts in the device. 8. Attach the battery cover. Charge the Battery Follow these instructions to charge your device's battery using the included AC adapter. Battery Charging Cautions Charging Conditions: Under low temperatures charging performance decreases. Charge your device in temperatures between 0°C – 50°C. Do not charge in places where there is high humidity.
Precaution for Extended Use: Your device may become hot when used for a long time or while charging, especially in high temperatures. Prolonged contact with skin may cause low-temperature burn injuries. The R717V and AC Adapter Becoming Warm or Hot: Your device and the AC adapter may become warm while charging. This is not a malfunction. However, stop using them immediately if they become extremely hot; this could indicate a malfunction. RISK OF EXPLOSION IF BATTERY IS REPLACED BY AN INCORRECT TYPE.

Turn Your Device On and Off The instructions below explain how to turn your device on and off, or to restart your device if it cannot be powered on and off using the Power button .. • Turn Your Device On Press and hold the Power button until the device displays "Welcome".
Hotspot LCD Screen ● Power Up the hotspot To turn your Hotspot on or off, press and hold the Power Button on the front of the device for at least two seconds. ● Main Screens Your hotspot has a series of screens that let you view device information and system alerts.
Hotspot Manager Access, monitor, and customize your device settings using the Hotspot Manager. ● Log In to the Hotspot Manager Open a browser on a computer connected to your Hotspot. Navigate to http://myhotspot or http://192.168.128.1. Click Log In. Enter your password and click Log in. You'll be taken to the Hotspot Manager home page. Note: The default Admin password for logging in to the Hotspot Manager is password. It is recommended that you change the password as soon as possible.
Connected Devices View devices that are connected to your Hotspot's Main or Guest Wi-Fi networks and configure access permissions. ● Set Permissions Log in to the Hotspot Manager. Click the Connected Devices tab. Click Access Permissions from the left menu to restrict access.
Hotspot Settings Configure your Hotspot's Wi-Fi, Mobile Network, Device, and Advanced Router settings. ● Configure Devices Settings Log in to the Hotspot Manager. Click the Settings tab. Click Device and Use the drop down menu to configure the following: Preferences: Change your Hotspot's display timeout. Web Interface: Change your password to log in to the Hotspot Manager. Software Update: View and update software for your Hotspot.
Network Settings Adjust your hotspot's Mobile Settings, APN, SIM, and Advanced devices settings. ● Configure Network Settings Log in to the Hotspot Manager. Click the Settings tab. Click Mobile Network Settings and use the drop data menu to configure the following: Mobile Settings: Manage your mobile broadband data connection and roaming settings. APN: View and edit APN settings. SIM: Enable a PIN lock for the SIM card.
Guest Networks Create a separate Guest Wi-Fi network that you can share with temporary users. ● Set Up a Guest Network Log in to the Hotspot Manager. Click the Settings tab. Using the drop down menu, select Wi-Fi > Basic Next to Multi SSID, select ON. Under Guest Wi-Fi, enter a new WI-Fi name and password and adjust additional network settings as desired.
Reset Your Hotspot You may want or need to clear your account information, reset user settings, or reset your device to its factory default settings. ● Reset Wi-Fi Settings Only Log in the Hotspot Manager. Click the Settings tab. Using the drop down menu, select Wi-Fi > Basic. Under Wi-Fi Settings Reset, click Reset. ● Restore All User Settings to Factory Defaults Log in to the Hotspot Manager. Click the Settings tab. Using the drop down menu, select Device > Backup and Restore.

General Precautions There are several simple guidelines to operating your hotspot properly and maintaining safe, satisfactory service. • Avoid exposing your hotspot and accessories to rain or liquid spills.
• Keep the metal contacts on top of the battery clean. • Don’t attempt to disassemble or short-circuit the Battery. • The battery may need recharging if it has not been used for a long period of time. • It’s best to replace the battery when it no longer provides acceptable performance. It can be recharged hundreds of times before it needs replacing. • Don’t store the battery in high temperature areas for long periods of time.

● Do not expose to water or other liquids, fire, explosion, or other hazards. ● Use the original R717V battery supplied with your device. ● If using with a charger, use only the AC charger supplied with your device. ● Do not short circuit the battery. ● When replacing a battery, use the same model of battery that was supplied with your device. ● Follow local regulations when disposing of a used battery. ● Avoid dropping your device or the battery.
During SAR testing, this device is set to transmit at its highest certified power level in all tested frequency bands, and placed in positions that simulate RF exposure in usage against, and near the body with the separation of 10 mm. Although the SAR is determined at the highest certified power level, the actual SAR level of the while operating can be well below the maximum value.
