He shoots, he scores! With Radica Mouse
Hockey™, you’ll experience the excitement of
playing a fast-paced hockey game—right in your
own living room! Shoot the puck, defend your
goal, and try not to get into too many fights with
your opponent. Good Luck!
BUTTON FUNCTIONS
New Game/Start - Press and hold this button to
start a new game or wake the game from Sleep
mode.
Pass -To pass the puck to your teammate,
press and hold this button and push the game
forward.
Shoot - To shoot the puck, locate an open
spot on the goal with the on-screen cursor.
Press the SHOOT button and move the game
forward to take your shot.
Hit - When a fight breaks out during the full
game mode, press the HIT button repeatedly
to land the most punches until the fight is over.
If you throw more punches than your opponent
does, you will win the fight.
Speed Burst - If there is not a teammate to
pass to, you must maneuver to the left or right
of the computer defender to find an open lane.
Now, press the Speed Burst button and move
the game forward to skate past your defender
and move up the ice.
Sound - Turns the sound on and off.
Reset - Resets the game.
GAME MODES
Mouse Hockey has two exciting game modes,
Full Game and Shoot Out. How many goals can
you score before the game ends?
In Full Game mode, you’ll play against a com-
puter opponent in three timed periods.
In Shoot Out mode, you will take turns shoot-
ing the puck and defending the goal against
your computer opponent.
LET’S PLAY!
Place the game on a clean, flat surface.
Press the New Game/Start button to turn the
game on. After a brief animation, you’ll see the
the words “Pick Game” flash on the screen.
Hint: To skip the opening animation, press the
New Game/Start button.
To select your game mode, move the mouse
to the left and the right. You’ll see the words
“Full Game” and “Shoot Out” flash on the
screen as you move the mouse.
When you know which game mode you want
to play, press the Start button.
SHOOTING THE PUCK
First, position yourself in front of the goal. Now
wait for the cursor to appear on the screen.
Move the mouse to position the cursor on the
screen. once you have found an open spot on
the goal, shoot the puck. To shoot the puck,
press and hold the Shoot button as you move
the game forward.
PASSING THE PUCK
In FULL GAME mode only when on OFFENSE,
you must first locate another teammate either on
the left or right hand side of the screen. Now,
you must get on the same
side (either left or right) of the
screen as your teammate and
maneuver to avoid the defend-
er and get an open lane. To
pass the puck, press and hold
the PASS button and push the
game forward.
If your pass was successful, you will continue
advancing up the ice.
If your passing attempt was not successful, the
“STOLEN PUCK” message will appear on the
screen and you will go back on defense.
SPEED BURST
In FULL GAME mode only
when on OFFENSE, if there is
not a teammate on the screen
to pass to, you must maneu-
ver to the left or right of the
computer defender to find an
open lane. Now, press the
Speed Burst button and move
the game forward to skate past your defender
and move up the ice.
PLAYING A FULL GAME
Face Off - The Face Off happens at the begin-
ning of a new game, at the beginning of a new
period, after a fight or if a goal is scored.
If you win the FACE OFF you will be on
OFFENSE. If you do not win the Face Off, you
will be on DEFENSE.
Wait for the puck to drop towards the ice, then
press the Pass button and pull the game
toward you. If you time it right, you’ll win the
face off and start on offense. If you do not win
the face off, you will start on defense.
Playing Offense - When you’re playing offense,
your goal is to get the puck past your computer
opponent by either passing the puck to your
teammate or using the Speed Burst button
(when there is no teammate to pass to) to
advance up the ice.
If you make it past all of the computer oppo-
nents on the ice, you will reach the goalie and
have a chance to take a shot.
To take a shot on goal, first position yourself in
front of the goal. Now wait for the cursor to
appear on the screen. Move the mouse to
position the cursor on the screen. Once you
have found an open spot on the goal, shoot
the puck. To shoot the puck, press and hold
the SHOOT button as you push the game for-
ward.
If your computer opponent gains possession of
the puck, you’ll switch to playing defense.
Playing Defense - When you’re playing
defense, your goal is to keep the puck from get-
ting past you.
If you successfully block the puck, you will
gain possession of the puck and switch to
playing offense.
If your computer opponent gets the puck past
you and continues to advance up the ice, he
will eventually reach your goalie and attempt a
shot at the goal.
When the computer opponent is attempting to
take a shot on your goal, you must move the
mouse to try and block the computer oppo-
nents’ shot with your goalie.
If you successfully block the shot with your
goalie, the “SAVE” message will appear on the
screen and a FACE OFF will occur next.
TIME’S UP!
At the end of the third period, the player with the
most goals wins the game.
FIGHT!
During the game, you may get into a fight with
another player. If this happens, you will want to
land more punches than your computer oppo-
nent to win the fight.
When a fight occurs, press the Hit button
repeatedly to throw punches until the fight is
over.
PLAYING SHOOT OUT
In Shoot Out mode, you and your computer
opponent will take turns trying to make a shot
and defending the goal.
You will start on offense in front of your com-
puter opponent’s goal. First, position yourself
in front of the goal. Now wait for the cursor to
appear on the screen. Move the mouse to
position the cursor on the screen. Once you
have found an open spot on the goal, shoot
the puck. To shoot the puck, press and hold
the Shoot button as you move the game for-
ward.
After you take your shot, it’s your turn to
defend the goal. You must try and block you
opponent’s shot. To attempt a block, move the
mouse either left, right, up or down to control
your on-screen goalie.
The player with the most goals at the end of
the game is the winner.
PLAYING A NEW GAME
Press START/NEW GAME to begin the game
mode you have selected.
Select your game mode by moving the mouse
left and right.
Press START button to start the game.
SCORING
In both Full Game and Shoot Out, each goal
scores one point.
GAME OVER!
Both game modes are timed. When the clock
runs out, the player with the most goals wins the
game.
BATTERY INSTALLATION
This game is powered by two (2) AAA batteries.
The battery compartment is located on the bot-
tom of the game.
Using a screwdriver, loosen the screw until the
battery compartment door can be removed.
Insert two AAA batteries (we recommend alka-
line) as indicated inside the battery compart-
ment.
Replace the battery compartment door and
tighten the screw with a screwdriver. Do not
over-tighten.
Adult supervision is recommended when
changing batteries.
CAUTION:
As with all small batteries, the batteries used
with this game should be kept away from small
children who might still put things in their
mouths. If a battery is swallowed, consult a
physician immediately.
Be sure you insert the battery correctly and
always follow the game and battery manufac-
turer’s instructions.
Do not dispose of batteries in fire, batteries
might leak if improperly installed, or explode if
recharged, disassembled or heated.
MAINTENANCE:
Handle this game carefully.
Store this game away from dusty or dirty
areas.
Keep this game away from moisture or tem-
perature extremes.
Do not disassemble this game. If a problem
occurs, press the Reset button or remove and
replace the batteries to reset the computer, or
try new batteries. If problems persist, consult
your warranty card for replacement instruc-
tions.
Only batteries of the same or equivalent type
as recommended are to be used.
Do not mix old and new batteries.
Do not mix alkaline, standard (carbon-zinc) or
rechargeable (nickel-cadmium) batteries.
Do not use rechargeable batteries.
Do not attempt to recharge non-rechargeable
batteries.
Remove any exhausted batteries from the
game.
The supply terminals are not to be short-cir-
cuited.
Batteries are to be inserted with the correct
polarity.
Keep this package because it contains
important information.
