E Battery Charging About Thermal Fuses ELECTRICAL HAZARD Your Power Wheels 12 volt battery is equipped with a built-in thermal fuse. The thermal fuse is a self-resetting safety device which automatically “trips” and shuts down operation of the vehicle if the vehicle is overloaded or the driving conditions too severe. Once a fuse has “tripped”, it will automatically reset itself after approximately 25 seconds and allow the vehicle to resume normal operations.
Battery Charging 1 2 Battery Pb Battery Charger Connector • Plug the charger connector into the battery . • Plug the charger into a standard 120 volt wall outlet . Note: If power flow to the wall outlet is controlled by a switch, make sure the switch is “ON”. • Before first-time use, charge the battery for at least 18 hours. Never charge the battery longer than 30 hours. • Recharge the battery for at least 14 hours after each use of your vehicle. Do not charge the battery longer than 30 hours.
F Assembly 2 WARNING Right Running Board Children can be harmed by small parts, sharp edges and sharp points in the vehicle’s unassembled state, or by electrical items. Care should be taken in unpacking and assembly of the vehicle. Children should not handle parts, including the battery, or help in assembly of the vehicle. Front of Vehicle 1 Steering Column Bottom View Right Running Board • Position the vehicle on its left side.
Assembly Floor of Vehicle Body 3 5 Groove Vase Tab • Fit the tab on the vase into the groove in the dash. • Insert a #8 x 3/ 4" screw through the bottom of the dash and tighten. Top View 6 Sound Box • Turn the vehicle upright. • While holding the right running board tab against the bottom of the vehicle, insert a #8 x 3/ 4" screw through the hole in the floor of the vehicle to secure the tab. Tighten the screw.
Assembly Battery Safety Information 7 Batteries may leak fluids that can cause chemical burn injury or ruin your product. To avoid battery leakage: • Do not mix old and new batteries or batteries of different types: alkaline, standard (carbon-zinc) or rechargeable (nickel-cadmium). • Insert batteries as indicated inside the battery compartment. • Remove batteries during long periods of non-use. Always remove exhausted batteries from the product. Dispose of batteries safely.
Assembly 9 11 32 Windshield 6 7 Slots 6 Start Here 6 9 13 Slots Slots • Apply the labels to dash, as shown. Front View 10 • Fit the eight tabs on the windshield into the eight slots in the top, front end of the vehicle. Hint: Begin by inserting a tab on one end of the windshield. Now, work your way around, inserting the remaining seven tabs. • Push down, above each tab, to “snap” the windshield into place. Dash 12 Windshield Rear View • Fit the dash onto the top, front end of the vehicle.
Assembly 13 Seat 15 Fasteners Tabs Long Seat Belt Tabs Slots Slot Seat Center Slots Slots • Turn the seat face down on a flat surface. • Position the long seat belt so the fasteners face each other, as shown. • Insert each end of the long seat belt through the two center slots in the seat bottom. 14 Rear View • Fit the six tabs on the bottom edge of the seat into the slots inside and on the top edge of the vehicle. • Push down near each tab until the seat “snaps” into place.
Assembly 17 18 Lower Steering Linkage Steering Column Steering Column Steering Column Hole in Vehicle Floor Large Hole Inside View • Fit the straight end of the steering column through the hole in the lower steering linkage and the opening in the vehicle floor. • Continue to slide the steering column up through the large hole in the dash.
Assembly 22 20 End of Steering Column Steering Column Cap Nut .354" .354 Cap Nut Bottom View • Fit a cap nut on the end of the steering column. • Tap the cap nut with a hammer to secure it on the end of the steering column. Hint: You may need the help of another adult to hold the steering column in place while you tap the cap nut. 21 Steering Wheel Rear View • Turn the vehicle upright. • Fit the steering wheel onto the end of the steering column.
Assembly 24 Steering Wheel Cap Notch 26 Hood Large Tab Steering Wheel Tab Large Tab Slot Slot Slot Small Front Tab Front View • Align the notch in the top of the steering wheel cap with the tab in the center of the steering wheel. Fit the steering wheel cap into the steering wheel. • Insert two #6 x 1" screws into the steering wheel cap and tighten the screws. • Fit the large tab on each side of the hood into the slots in the front end of the vehicle.
G Label Decoration Proper label application will help to keep the labels looking their best! When applying labels, keep the following guidelines in mind: • Wash your hands before applying the labels. • Before applying the labels, wipe the surface of the vehicle with a clean, dry cloth to remove any dust or oils. • Place the labels exactly as shown in the illustrations. • For best results, avoid repositioning a label once it has been applied to the vehicle.

H Battery Installation IMPORTANT! Use only Power Wheels® 12 volt battery. Use of any other battery will damage your vehicle. Make sure that you charge the battery for at least 18 hours using the enclosed Power Wheels® 12 volt charger before operating your vehicle for the first time. Charge the battery for at least 14 hours after each use of the vehicle. Never charge the battery longer than 30 hours. Failure to follow these instructions may damage your battery and will void your warranty.
I Battery Care and Disposal Battery Care and Disposal Care Disposal If a battery leak develops, avoid contact with the leaking acid and place the damaged battery in a plastic bag. See information below for proper disposal. If acid comes in contact with skin or eyes, flush with cool water for at least 15 minutes and call a physician. If acid is internally ingested, give water, milk of magnesia or egg whites immediately. Never give emetics or induce vomiting. Call a physician.

When your child is ready to drive the vehicle in high speed (5 mph, maximum), follow the instructions on this page to disconnect the high speed lock-out. To Back Up Beginner Use - Low Speed Drive As assembled, your vehicle is ready to roll in low speed (21/2 mph, maximum). It has been pre-set so it will only operate in low speed.
M How to Operate Your Vehicle To Drive 11 1 11 2 11 3 IMPORTANT! To avoid damaging the motors and gears, stop the vehicle before shifting between low and high speed. • Make sure the shifter is in the high speed position 1 . 2 • Press down on the foot pedal . The vehicle goes forward at a maximum of 5 mph 3 . • Help your child practice steering to learn how far and how quickly to turn the steering wheel when driving forward in high speed.

Make sure the motor harness connector is tightly plugged into the battery, and that there are no loose wires around the motors.
